I slot it in with Yoshi's Island. Different but similar at the same time. There was plenty of traditional 3D Mario platforming present, seems that a lot of people got put off by the nozzle gameplay, which struck me as kind of a petty complaint given how solid it was.

    Better than Geist, anyway ;)

Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime made me want a Gamecube. Geist is pretty wierd, I tried it out a week or two ago and it just seems strange.

Think I will have posted in this thread already but who cares.

I never really got into Mario sunshine either, I found it very repetative and never actually finished it.

I'm currently playing Metroid Prime...I really don't get what all the fuss is about. It's so boring.

It's an exploration game...could be it's lost it's luster but I dunno, it was so awesome playing through back in 2003/4.

That's what I'm thinking, maybe at the time it was incredible.

I think the cube has aged terribly in some ways.

I picked up Rebel Strike Rogue Leader a game I bought on release way back when. I thought it was incredible, really pretty to look at and fun to play. Now it seems to look terrible.

In contrast Mario Sunshine seems to look fresh and new.

I dunno, I still like it but I did play it when it came out. It was so cool seeing all the effects that have to do with the visor. I still think 1 was more fun then 2 or 3.

Posted in the Want to buy thread but I'll also put it here.

Looking for a copy of Twilight princess for the GC, PAL. I would even pay to rent it for a while.

Now that's a boring game. Most of it anyway. Some of it was alright but the repetition was so annoying. I think I got to the end and got bored. I can't say it's a flat out bad game but I don't think there will ever be another OOT.

I really don't like Ocarina of time, when it was released I was heavily into JRPG's and I just didn't see what the fuss was about.

Wind Waker was awesome, I've heard that TP is more of the same so I need to give it a try really.

That was how I was when it came out and everyone raved about it. I was playing through Xenogears when everyone was going nuts about it. I have to say it's a fun game though, but honestly I never beat it. TP was fun enough, just...I dunno. I still love the GBC Zelda DX though!

It's true Metroid. If you didn't like the 2D, you won't like the 3D - this is not a first person shooter, exploration takes priority and shooting is often incidental and not technical.

With that said, I enjoyed both MP1 and 2:Echoes, and I just finished MP3:Corruption a few days ago and I can say they're all amazingly good and detailed games, not a single dull moment.

I knew before I started playing that they were all about the exploration and that's what I like in a game but it just doesn't pull me in. I have to admit that I've never played the 2D versions and so I'm probably missing out on a little nostalgic revival.

I'll persevere however as I'm trying my hardest at the moment to finish as many flagship titles as I can to simply broaden my gaming horizons. Plus if I end up enjoying the game I can pick up Echoes for £2.99 in gamestation.

beware, Echoes is the least favourite in the series and the most difficult out of the 3.

Echoes was real fun for the first bit and then when it does the dumb backtracking it got old. It was a little unpolished too, I remember some stupid boss glitches. It was cool playing another MP though. I need to get farther into 3, I was all excited about it but it really isn't the same game for the most part, mostly because of controls. It also sucks it looks so bad on my HDTV, the widescreen is cool.

I sat down with Metroid Prime and played it for a few hours and now I can't put it down. Searching for upgrades is addictive.

Twilight Princess arrived this morning. Played it for four hours solid and I've only just finished the Forest Temple...I'm guessing this game is huge.

Very very cool game but the boomerang annoys me.
