I know GT5P has free online updates...

But i'll have to get this!

Yes, i know mine GT5P will be updated to Spec III free of charge, but i'm crazy! The cover looks great!

I'll hope it gets released on US (easier to get). If not i'll have to wait for the price to go down (WTF PD?! 4,980 Y for a updated game?)

I never got the bit deal about the GT games. Isn't 3 like the biggest selling PS2 game ever?

WHY? What is so amazing about these games?

Give me Ridge Racer any day

Even though I am not a racing game fan at all, then I can maybe answer some part of your question GoH, GT has probably been one of the most realistic racing games for a long time. And well I could see a great use of the graphic engine in a real driving simulator compared to the last one I saw. And the PS3 machine could be use as backbone to the simulator.

The reason it sells and is considered really good is because it has always had good graphics and from what I've been told (since I'm just starting to learn to drive) is that it is realistic at the driving aspect and it does a good job of simulating that.

Even though I've liked the game from the beginning i do tend to get a bit bored of it after a while although not played GT5 prologue much since i don't own a PS3 yet so can't really comment on that.

You guys answered correctly. One important thing is that you can fully tune the whole car, not to mention replacing parts. And it really affects the performance. It's like tuning your own car.

I won't even say how difficult and exciting is to tune endurance race cars like Audi R8 and the Peugeout 905. The game is praticaly a car encyclopedia. You can race anything from a 1936 Auto Union Type C to a Formula 1 race car. For car aficionados like me, it's fantastic.

In the end everyone here likes one game series. Some people love, while others don't care.

I also like Ridge Racer a lot, but GT is my obsession.

I ve had hard luck downloading updates for GT5P. I hope the Spec III will download without any issues - especially considering that the damn thing doesn't resume downloading!

OutRun is just too damn GOOD!!! Too bad i never saw an arcade cabinet of it again. Thank god Mame exists.

Daytona is multiplayer racing heaven! I used to play a lot with my friends before we went to parties or nightclubs. These days it's getting difficult to find decent condition twin + twin cabinets.

I'm playing on Nebula sometimes (almost 100% emulation)

    Found this:

    ■ Cautions when Downloading
If an error occurs during the download of update data, please retry the download. Data that had been downloaded up to that point is saved, and the download can be resumed. It is possible to resume downloading by:
    Selecting News in My Page
    or
Exiting the game with the PS button and restarting the game.

    And this:

Everyone had that problem. Everytime the error happens, press ok, then try again. The download resumes, even though it doesn't show. I tried like 5 times, leave it off, then when I came back, tried 1 time, and the second, it dld super fast.

Well what happens to you? Error messages or no indication it's downloading?

I read somewhere it might take a while to show download progress. Still, if problems continue, i would suggest you to contact tech support.

I get something to the avail of "An error occurred while downloading" - click ok, go to NEWS again and restarts. The issue comes up at random points during the download - and my connection is fine, I ve downloaded tons of stuff and I can play online games just fine:S
