game and video game hardware conservation (Preventing damage to
passively), preservation (Actively taking measures to prevent further degradation), and restoration (Repairing physically).

This forum is to address the following:

Preservation of plastics
Preservation of papers
Preservation of electronics

This forum hopes to establish:

Standards for storage
Standards for storage materials
Standards for acceptable and unacceptable restoration
Standards for storage of electronic games and hardware

Video games fall into several categories:

Rom
Eprom
Magnetic
Optical
Digital downloads

Hardware falls into several categories:

Inert
Degrading battery
Degrading hardware parts other than battery
Built in intentional failure

Accessories fall into several categories:

Inert
Fading
Degrading interaction of materials

More will come to mind however this is plenty to address,
do research on, and draw up standards for storage and
preservation.
