I'm not too knowledgeable on VB stuff but yesterday i saw one in gamestation in Edinburgh for £69.99 it was unboxed and i was really tempted to go in a buy it but i didn't know if that price was good or not and i couldn't spend that much.
I've seen some unusual stuff in gamestation but never seen a VB and this is the first time i seen one in real life rather than just pics on the internet.
Buy one from the States. Even after shipping, it shouldn't be anywhere close to ~$140 for unboxed unit-only.
For an unboxed unit the price is not too hot. You can get boxed VBs with some of the common games for 80-100 pounds on ebay from time to time.
Weird machine, I first saw one for real in Japan at Super Potato where I also played on it for a few minutes. Although it makes you feel really dizzy when you return to the living and its bright and dazzling world, it is a really intense game experience.

I could never get past how uncomfortable it was to play. I probably only switched it on a dozen or so times, and could never play it for more than 20 minutes or so. Really neat bit of kit, but if the ergonomics aren't there then it won't get played.
I have a pretty nice setup for mine with its own desk and chair. It feels so weird having owned one for so long that others have not even seen one in person. They`re far from the best system ever, but the play experience is unique and worth a try.
Damn now I wish I was home playing Panic Bomber. I love the tunes in that game.
In The Beginning...
I remember playing that some 14 years ago or so...the robo-boxing game was great. But yeah, you can't play it for more than a few minutes or you get really dizzy.
Try it out first. If they get knocked the mirrors can become misaligned and it's basically FUBAR. As others have said, unboxed should be cheaper online.
In my experience the dizziness is overstated. Unless you play something like Wario, which is a longer term gameplay experience, you'll be fine. VB games are basically like retro arcade games. Good for a quick game, fun and impressive in a retro way, but not something you'll spend much time on.

Heh, I got a boxed Virtual Boy with Mario Tennis for $30 when it was initially discontinued and Toys 'R Us was clearing out stock :-)
Got a Sega Nomad for $50 the same way :-)

I've never gotten dizzy from playing my Virtual Boy.
As a system, the Virtual Boy is just too gimmicky to be that good. Yeah, there's some cool stuff, but there was no way it was ever going to succeed as a system.
You "have" to get one...........you may hunt around a while to get one a few £ cheaper, but £100 on ebay should get you a boxed one with a few common games
I have never had a problem playing it. no neck ache, back ache, headaches anything at all
Go on get one...worst case is if you really hate it which I doubt, you are not likely to loose money on it

About 5-6 months ago I lost out on a mint boxed VB with a mint boxed AC adapter and a couple games. I think my max bid was like $65 and the winner
got it for $65.50 .. The kicker is that it was only 5 miles from me and I could
have done a local pickup.

I never got dizzy from playing it, but it was so damn uncomfortable. I picked up a pretty decent set at swap meet a few years back for $15. I just couldn't stay interested in it. It was fun, but such an ordeal to get comfortable and set up for a game session.

That seems like a steep price for a Virtual Boy. I would tell you to save your money as you'll have to invest in another few hundred dollars in surgery to remove the red haze over your eyes after extended play.:110:
