What is a good price for an Initial D Stage 3 machine?

For anybody that lives out here on Long Island, you may know that it is now impossible to play one of these machines. I would just like to know what is a fair price for one of these.

A lot of modern arcade machines still have good resale value so if you are hoping to pick up a bargain then you might be disappointed. A single player version would go for around $1.5k to $3k a twin sitdown would be $4.5k to $6k and that's before shipping, pallating and the like.

Fior that sort of money you could get a decent LCD 1080p HDTV, a Playstation 3, a logitech G25 wheel, a racing seat set up, a decent 5.1 digital amp, some speakers a copy of Initial D Extreme and still have enough money left for every other racing game on the system and still have enough left over to hire a japanese schoolgirl to go on a date with you for that total initial D experience.

I was once quoted £2500 for a single version. A friend of my Dad used to own a transport company and had contracts with a few arcades around the country.

With that money you could take up real racing, and forget games.

You missed out on the Initial D arcade unit on eBay a few weeks back! It was in the USA as well :-(

Why not contact local arcade suppliers and repair shops to see whether they have an 'empty' cabinet suitable for Initial D?

In the UK there are a number of companies, but the best known is JNC based in Bristol. They often strip, clean, repair units and resell as either complete units or parts.

An example of that was I was about to buy Ridge Racer V, but the only unit he could provide me was a double unit. I could only obtain one System 246 version of RRV, so passed on the deal.

Total price for RRV (including game) £1500 on his website (inc delivery).

Total price for just the cabinet £380 (inc delivery)

Total price to buy the suitable motherboard elsewhere (£200) !!!

    Some saving eh!

There must be similar companies in the USA.
