Capcom CPS3 Suicide

The No-CD version simply does not need the cd drive plugged in for it to work so I would say its a much space friendly kit inside your cabinet :P
They still have and need the security card though.

Replacing the batteries on CPS 2 is not much of a problem really, but on CPS 3 is a bit of challenge.

And its amazing to see your Vampire Savior to be running on its original battery... wow, 11 years and still active. Makes me wonder if mine could get there too haha.
Still, I´m thinking on phoenixing my Shadow Over Mystara... but I think I´ll just do it when the battery dies.

I think the only way it lived so long on that orignal battery is that i must have been used all day, every day for at least 6 years or so. for normal home use 4/5 years is normal if it gets used a couple of times a month.

Well not about CPS 2 or 3, but still its a Capcom fighter.

Very good game indeed... played this one a lot on the Dreamcast.

CPS3 was not designed to last more than maybe 5 years... it's so damn fragile. Add in the intentional suicide and a 5 year life it what you get.

Which is ridiculous and the reason it was never sucessful for an arcade hardware.

My MVS is pretty damn eternal. :P

Yeah the MVS is invincible. I was doing some soldering over it and next thing I know I get a video ram error. So I look up on neo-geo.com which chip the error code I get is from. I find the chip on the board. Find pieces of solder connecting pins all over the place. Pluck out the solder....and my board works like it's new again lol. Getting arcade stuff phoenixed is just....a must. It's too bad a lot of arcade boards weren't built to last. I'm staying away from suicide boards right now because last thing I want is some 300$ game to go poopy in my face.
