Oh FUCK.“Sega of America has pitched the concept of westernising these franchises."
yep i heard about that, doesnt sound much like a good idea.
what? did i read correctly? (im really asking the question...im tired and will go to bed in the few minutes if i don't ill sleep on my chair :smt043 )
sega is selling their rights on their classics games?!
no..... no, it can't be! :smt009
"(...)A One World Government and one-unit monetary system, under permanent non-elected hereditary oligarchists who self-select from among their numbers in the form of a feudal system as it was in the Middle Ages. In this One World entity, population will be limited by restrictions on the number of children per family, diseases, wars, famines, until 1 billion people who are useful to the ruling class, in areas which will be strictly and clearly defined, remain as the total world population." Dont let media feed you with lies. open your eyes and search information yourself.
*lights hair on fire and dances around room* THE END IS NOW!!!

This may be a directive from Sammy. :angry Then again it could be SOA expanding on what they did with THQ on the GBA.
it was fucked enough seeing NO SEGA logo on so many damn NA releases from Headhunter to Super Monkey Ball GBA - now this?
Bad move from Sega really really bad move :smt009
What's the problem? They're not doing anything with half of those franchises anyway. They might as well do something with them.
Altered Beast
Golden Axe
They haven't touched these two for around a decade, so they might as well give somebody else a stab at them. I don't think that just because a game is developed in the west that it will be bad. Though, I do think it's an awful idea to let Traveler's Tales anywhere near another sega property...awful...
That's not to say that I don't like Sega's traditional Japanese games. In fact, I love them. They're grea. I don't want to see NiGHTS or Streets of Rage, or Crazy Taxi made more Xtreme to the max to appeal to western markets. But then again, Sega could definately benefit from games that actually sell here.
Oh, and holy crap, that article stole my avatar which I stole from the Nights CD...look!
Death to Bill and Ted!
There was a new release of altered beast on the gba a while back and it sucked balls to be honest.

Well, thank you fucking Sega of America. Please note that nobody outside of your little dream world wants to see mutated shitty western versions of Japanese classics. One source told us, “Sega of America has pitched the concept of westernising these franchises. "
Well at least we know Travelers Tails are a good software house from their Saturn release of Sonic R and other Sega releases. Makes me proud to be from Liverpool. We have some of the best software design teams in Europe. Bizare Crations, Travelers Tails and Psygnosis. OK, forget about that last on :smt042 They are no more anyway since Sony now owns them.We can confirm that Travellers’ Tales is in talks with Sega right now concerning one of the firm’s franchises that is not listed above.
Yakumo
Yes in fact I think Traveller's Tales is the last glint of hope in this nightmare... oh goddamn, Nights is gonna get raped :smt022
wtf ie EVERYONE outsourcing now? i guess us americans started a trend.
im gonna take a wait and see attitude with this. sometimes new ideas and fresh thinking is what a franchise needs. i cant see HOTD, golden axe and altered beast suffering too much.
anyhow, if the games suck, sega can just not renew the licencing agreement.
Sega are so stupid sometimes!

Everyone is not happy with this news because EVERYTHING that American Software houses get their hands on turns to shite. They just don't have the design ideas of Japanese or some European game companies. Traveller's Tales are the only ones who can make a decent remake of any Sega license. Sonic R was well worthy of the Sega name as was Sonic 3D or Sonic Blast n the US. Then what do we have from Sega American? Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean machine with god awful audio, Sonic Spinball and DeCap Attack.Originally Posted by MasterChief
If the games do "suck" then Sega sure will not renew the license but the damage would have already been done. I personally think this is a bad idea. Can anyone possible expect a US made NiGHTS 2 to be anywhere as charming as the original? We've all seen the really shitty GBA Alterd Beast remake. That's the shap of things to come :smt022

PS: MasterChief, I wasn't having a go at you by the way ;-)
Erm....guys...this has been written by Spong, they talk the biggest load of bollocks known to man.In fact only a tenth of their exclusives come true.I can't see Yuji naka letting Nights go, considering the reason he himself does not want to make a sequel is because of quality issues. If this is true, why is not on any of the major news sites and on some pile of pish like Spong???
I bow to the knowledge of the true n64 programmers on this board.
That's what I needed to hear! Thanks mate :drinkers:Originally Posted by Nintendomad
