Wonderswan Questions (now with more fairy tale!)

Once upon a time, koolkid was looking at auctions on ebay for Wonderswan. He wanted it, but was confused on what to get. Could he survive with a original wonderswan? Should he pay the extra money to get a crystal? Was the special edition Final Fantasy pack worth it? But mostly he was wondering if he could get games to play with his EXTREME lack of japanese knowledge. So koolkid thought up a brilliant plan to get the wonderswan. By adding it to a special cellular modular letter, he got santa claus tricked into having to get it for koolkid. But before christmas came koolkid had to ask some questions about the system. Answer these please, and then we can live happily ever after in my golden castle.

its so cheap u might as well get the FF pack and the Crystal...

The FF pack only comes with a Wonderswan Colour, the SwanCrystal is standalone, in boring red or blue...

There are plenty of games a non Japanese speaker/reader can play, but not the "big name" games like FF and Gundam (with a few exceptions).

The Regular colour WonderSwan is perfectly adequate for gaming, the screen is viewable in most lights thanks to its transflectivity-ness. The SwanCrystal has a better screen, but I don't like the look of the unit itself.

Might I recommend this site for ideas of what is playable and what is not.

Yo Wonderswan is teh kol!

The Final Fantasies are playeble with minimal jap.........minus the story of course.

But there are worthy action titles considering the price, Mr.Driller, One Piece Battle Colluseum, Guilty Gear Petit etc, stuff, good stuff to be had.

Everything bar Alchemist Marie & Ellie ~Futari no Atelier~ is playable without a good understanding of Japanese. Not sure about one or two of them though.
