Im almost done with the second movie. Shouldn't it be called "Aliens vs. Humans" with the novelty of a Predator thrown in for a few scenes?

that movie was shit. the first one was much better.
You can ask for any old woman
You can ask for an army of ants
You can ask for a pillar of poison
You can ask for sheep and shavers
And you can die for
Be careful what you wish for
I thought it was a great concept but I was disappointed after the first one since it really didn't have much where both "creatures" were on the screen at the same time. I thought they'd do better in the second one since sequels usually rely more on the action angle than the story. But after the first 30 minutes of watching aliens killing humans I resigned myself to the fact that it's just not going to happen. The writers/directors seem to be satisfied having the two names in the title and not much else.

The games were so much better than the movies IMO (well, at least the pc games)
I always liked this script much better than the trash that actually got made.

Well, it's rather brutal here. Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.
I gave a pretty quick look at it, and it's really better than the shitty movie we got (the ending specially)
That was one of the scripts submitted when the first movie was in development hell. Then Paul W.S. Anderson came on board and ruined it like everything else he touches.

Come on guys, lets be honest with ourselves :
a) alien 1, 2, maybe 3 and predator 1 are the best
b) the rest sucks pretty much my b4lls.

Incidentally they're showing Predator 2 on TV here right now ^^
This game will make you a sociopath

That isn't saying much in my book. The first was the typical predictable Hollywood baloney, filled with plot holes (like when the girl decides to ally with the Predators, even though they've been killing all her friends up to that point, etc.) But at least it had some decent fight scenes.that movie was shit. the first one was much better.
They should skip ahead and base the movies off of the Dark Horse comics, like the games were. Set them in the future so we can get those space marines in the mix also.
I think humans should only appear as victims in something that's called Aliens vs Predator - ONE predator. Sort of like Predator 1 but against aliens, instead of Arnold and Co.

The Aliens movies are a very good example of when a stupendous idea gets drawn out and dies a death more unpleasant and painful to watch than being disemboweled by an Alien Mother's thorny tail!
Alien & Aliens were outstanding, beyond that, the other films would be best sucked out into the vast emptiness of space and never seen again!
Predator is great, why go and spoil it...

Granted there were some good parts, like the fact that anyone was fair game for the slaughter. Usually movies introduce the characters in the beginning and you kind of see how that group always makes it to the end. I liked how the blonde was killed and the other high school kid gets killed right after...no sappy romantic ending where they both make it through even tho they were main characters. It was the same in 28 Weeks Later when the US soldier got lit on fire. That told me that they writer wasn't going to have a big group hug with the survivors at the end and you really didn't know who was going to survive.
BUT....even the end battle scene was cut short. We finally get to see the ultimo Alien fight the Predator but after a minute they both get nuked. I swear it's as if the writer decided to limit the amount of screen time for both as much as possible.

The CPS2 game is great!Originally Posted by Sojiroh
In terms of cinematic skill, the 3rd one was the best. Before everyone comes in to cane me, note that Fincher (a far better director than Cameron and [gasp!] Ridley Scott) came in halfway, with a lower budget and worse script than either of the two. Obviously, he didn't have a great time as he's alienated (pun intended) himself from the project, but it still came out good. I thought the part where she falls in the molten lead Christ-style was cheesy, but otherwise it was creepier than the first. I liked the whole gothic effect. I think he had a more talented cast than the first two.Originally Posted by Parris

How very dare you....wash your mouth out....better than Ridley Scott? Sacre Bleu! ;-) Okay, Fincher did a sterling job with "Se7en" (a film I couldn't fault in any way), but I just felt it lacked something crucial to the previous films, suspense!
It dragged on, was a bloody awful script, which was wasted on the cast and seemed utterly bland to me. Don't ever bother watching the special edition which features about a week of additional footage the director had to cut out of the public release.
Not even the gothic styling saved it for me. Whomever was responsible for the special effects & sets did a brilliant job, yet no...
They might as well have stopped at 2. Let's not even discuss 4.
These 'guest' appearances in films really piss me off. I mean, the whole point is that these characters exist in their own space. Why mix them all up?
I propose "Mickey Mouse & friends meet Norman Bates" - I can think of no more fitting end to Disney characters.

I totally forgot that game existed, you're right that's also an excellent game. I spent so many hours (and coins) in my local arcade just to finish that game, ahhh the memories :crying:.Originally Posted by GaijinPunch
