Sticker removal on new and very old games

Sorry if this seems like something of a shameless plug for my work, but I just finished a rather detailed and in-depth look at how to remove stickers from both new video game boxes, and those caked on stickers over 20 years old.

I would also appreciate any feedback, you never know how different people approach a problem like this... new ideas are always welcome!

I personally prefer a hair dryer on low.

For stickers on plastic "goo gone" works perfectly.

Don't know about you guys but I actually like the price stickers on old games. :-/

Why...? I hate price stickers on games. Better it be on the plastic outter wrap then on the actual box or cartridge as I can live with that. But on the actual game is so nasty.

Price tags are occasionally valuable for historical purposes. It's interesting to see retail clearance markdowns on old 3DO or Sega CD games that are now considered rare or otherwise highly sought after. It's sort of like finding commercials on twenty-year-old VHS tapes. At the time, they were annoying. Today, it might actually be informative or entertaining to see Billy Dee Williams selling malt liquor or Joe Isuzu lying to you.

Of course, it's your collection and you can do as you please. And if you intend to resell your games at a later date, it's probably not good for others to see what you paid for that 100|< R@R3 item. :)

I totally agree with your point of view. The historical importance of some price stickers is worth keeping them in place. However, many stickers do not tell prices (or the price holds little importance), and often times tape can be a big issue as well.

A lot of price stickers do come off really easily. However the ones that I really hate are the anti theft devices that are hard to come off, you know those sqaure barcode sticker or the white raised plastic strip. It can be an art trying to remove those without causing damage to the box...
