    WTB: Cheap Apple iBook (UK)

I am after a cheap iBook in the UK. I've seen a few listed BIN on eBay for roughly £169, and often they go for less than that when left to run as auctions.

It doesn't have to be all singing and dancing, a G3 500/600Mhz would suffice, but it does have to be in good working order, have a working battery and have a DVD drive, plus a PSU. Not a huge amount to ask.

The wife is after one and loves the sleek, white design!

Anyhooooo, if anyone has one kicking around the back of their closet and is interested in either selling or a trade for something then let me know asap before she goes out and spends £700 on a stonking brand new one!

If you're looking for a 1st gen macbook instead, for a bit more obviously, let me know.

How much more is a little bit more? I've not looked into them tbh! I think the white laptop caught her eye  Feel free to PM if you wish!

I think a G3 is quite slow, atleast do your wife a favor and get a G4 with a minimum of 800mhz or something. Then you can atleast run Tiger or Leopard.

    Just some minor thoughts though.

Ive got a g3 800mhz, and it performs fine on 256mb of ram. I really recommend upgrading the ram, but its not to say it doesnt work. I run tiger on the little devil :P Just as a warning, DVD drive may be hard to find, they arent very common, but there is an aftermarket version out there. My 800mhz g3, 256mb ram, airport wireless, cost 275US or so shipped. And the battery life can be stretched to over 3 hours!

I'm actually very tempted by this: http://uneasysilence.com/archive/2007/11/12654/

Although I think some of the driver issues still aren't sorted.
