hehehe the stupid kid; you actually need a rubber TV to safely play the wii ;)
this is balls, I ve seen people actively breaking consoles/TVs/throwing controllers back in the day because they didn't have any continues left etc, during the NES/SNES era:P

Yeah, it's just an increased risk of something that's always been a possibility!
I don't understand those attachments. Pointless. Like the Lightsaber ones. What the hell?!?! Oh, and don't get me started on the bloody ridiculous foot-long golf club attachment! WHY?!?!??!!

that mom was surprisingly calm, too!
nintendo supplies wrist-bands for a reason, stupid kids these days, if u cant grip it properly then tie it!

No names mentioned, but a member here who actually works for Microsoft has confessed that he too screws-up 360 pads on a regular basis - you should design them better then, or at minimum stop smacking them off walls, floors & TV units! I have yet to break a single controller for any console since the Atari 2600 was around. Those rubber tragedies were either going to break your wrist or be broken and I got through a fair few as a ham-fisted kid. Since then, no broken controllers!
As for the video, it really does seem very put on. I mean, the Mum seems to be incredibly calm about the whole incident indeed! No mother reacts to any damage in that manner. What happened to the over reaction? The smack across the lads head and the 'Just wait 'til your father comes home' one liner? Nope, I smell a rat.

the kid is actually a guest, from the context of the vid. might be some relative or cousin, but surely not her own.

You know what, I can understand children throwing their Wii remotes by accident but not an adult unless they are some sort of idiot. Those rubber covers Nintendo sent out make the remote look like some poor Sci-Fi movie prop!. My remotes don't even have the wrist strap on them

the new cover though IS useful because I've swung my wii mote and accdientally tapped a wall or something. they added extra padding at the tip for that stuff, my friend pulled back for a bowl and hit my desk. It happens. but no excuse for throwing.Originally Posted by Yakumo

Do you guys get carried away while playing or something? I live in a Japanese home which has got to be smaller than any of the places you guys live in yet the remote has never once hit anything or flew out of my hand. Even when playing No More Heroes slashing everything in site.
I guess I must be naturally more careful than most people or maybe it's just because I'm getting older so I can't move about as fast as you young guys and girls

Watching that video, he didn't hit the TV.
The TV is in an entertainment center and probably had glass doors for dvd/vhs display/storage and that is what broke.
exactly it was the glass of the furniture next to the tv.. hence moms light reaction.. if it was the tv those kids would be dead :POriginally Posted by Cactusjack1999
After rewatching, I think the kid did it on purpose. If I was that age and I had an opportunity to break something and make it look like a legitimate accident, I'd do it.
