Wanted: someone to make an RGB cable for Sega Genesis 2/32X

I need someone to make an RGB cable (for a Commodore/Amiga 1084 RGB monitor - 9pin female dsub) for Sega Genesis 2/32X game console. Due to a work related injury on my hands and the fact that I neither have the time nor am I a tech kinda guy, I want someone to make this for me.

I tried gamesx.com but seems nobody wants to make one for me since it's kind of an elitist crowd (besides the fact that the site isn't working as of now).

Yeah, wrong place to post. Read the forum rules. Try introducing yourself first. And at least state where you are if you're after something - some don't like shipping abroad. Oh, and in this case, state at least a ball-park figure of what you're willing to pay!

The 1084 shouldn't have a 9-pin connector like that. The 1084S and 1084D do, though. IIRC, my 1084S was REALLY poor for RGB from consoles, and it wouldn't sync with NTSC inputs.

I am in california, USA and I am needing a sega genesis 2/32x rgb cable (1084 style db9 female connector) in the price range of around 50 dollars. Reason I need a db9 rgb connector is my sony pvm-2530 monitor has a db9 cable attatched to it and my other cables (saturn, jaguar, and sne) use a db9 female cable

I am well aware of this but this is for a scart rgb cable. I need an rgb cable that is made spacifically for a 1084 db9 female connector since I lack the time and technical skills to make my own - hence, the reason I posted this ad

Hmm, PVM-2530 is a broadcast monitor. That shouldn't have a 9 pin connector. More like a 25 pin one.

You needed to state the monitor, as it is possible that the cable would need extra components in it. Building a cable for a monitor without having the monitor in front of you isn't always easy!

Are you sure all inputs are wired the same as, and carry the same specifications as, the 1084? The 1084 is by no means a pro monitor, unlike yours.

This still belongs in the marketplace, though ;-)

the sony pvm 2530 monitor I purchased came wih a special 25 pin to 9 pin dsub male adaptor, which is why I need a 9 pin dsub female cable for genesis2/32x

Without the "pinout" of the 25 pin or 9 pin connector, it is highly unlikely that anyone will be able to make you a cable.

A "pinout" is a diagram with each pin numbered, and a list which gives the function of each pin, e.g. Pin 1: Red, Pin 2: Green, Pin 3: Blue, et cetera.

If you have the pinout, I would be able to construct a cable for you.

You need more than just the pinout, you need to know the specs of the lines, too. This isn't any monitor we're talking about, it is broadcast quality. It is most likely digital RGB, although it may accept analogue.

here's a question...can a SCART genesis 2/32x cable to be rewired to a db9 for use with 1084 monitor?

Technically, yes. In theory, the easiest thing to do is make a SCART to 1084 adapter, and use RGB SCART leads for your consoles. In practice, it won't necessarily work on everything, though.

Incidentally, that connector (on the MD2) is damned hard to get - you'll want to just get an RGB SCART lead and put a new connector on that end.

Yes it's probably easier to buy a MD2 SCART lead and then make a SCART to DB9 convertor as soldering to mini din is a horrible thing to do.

scart to DB9 converter sounds like a good idea, but only if someone could do that for me (i have nerve damage in my hands as a result of my last job and I can't solder to save my life).
