some kind of dispute which led to the loss of the contact i think?
Quake Alphas may have much more cut content than Doom.
Doom 0.4 still looks incomplete but has some of what was described in the Doom Bible.
We cant judge from the many backgrounds that RE 1.5 was almost complete.
Perhaps puzzles or sounds or FMVs werent ready. We dont know about bugs.
Usually screenshots say RE 1.5 or 2 but not the development stages and what changed during development like item boxes or Leons Uniform.
Oh, that's a sad story...
Is that the fellow that goes under the name of Grey Fox on Bioflames and (as former moderator) at Capcom's official board then?
@Moondog and other DOOM fans...
Dunno if you have seen this video? Contains footage of a early version of DOOM using SNES' Wolfenstein 3D's SFX...
Thanks for the post! I hadn't seen that before and by the look of it it must be post 0.5 because of the HUD so that video is dated after may 22 1993. Romero's upload says November 1993 which to not have the music and sfx by then suggests the guys at ID worked fast because Doom was released on December 10th 1993.!
If that video is from November 1993 in less than a month between October and November they changed the HUD from the one found in the press beta to the later one. not to mention they also made some major changes to the maps! In the days between November and December. I don't know how John did it but he made them work fast!
Speaking of John Romero, one thing I would also like to see surface is the Daikatana build running on the Quake engine before it was scrapped in 1997.
No, it was a Japanese guy. All took place in 1999. Actual identity of the person is Inflames's secret. He never even told me and even now he refuses to say. All that needs to be known though is they had a falling out and some issues arose that caused no transfer of disc. This contact has been long missing and unreachable since 2000.
The amount of history regarding 1.5 almost makes me wish it never sees the light of day and is left as one of the great gaming mysteries.
No...no...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (Not THAT :p)
I understand what you mean tough, there can be written volumes about this game. It's extremely interesting in my opinion. That's what's great about this particular thread; a gathering of all information regarding Biohazard 1.5...
A great (scanned) interview that was posted on the Bioflames board...

I've got a cracking back issue of Edge where they did a big article on 1.5 ... will have to try and dig that out and get it scanned! :)
I wish the same kind of data existed for Zelda 64 DD - not even a single screenshot exists despite the near completion of the game (minus the title which can be summoned/sommoned/summened/pick which ever one is the correct spelling/ with gameshark/hacking from the original OOT cart.
That's the earliest known build, but the bit of info from UG below mentions a 0.0 build. I find it interesting at which build exactly the alpha stage ended. There is another full debug build still unleaked (according to the info from UG) , Additionally a lot of pre-release stuff can be seen in magazines and video previews. If we look at Capcom doing one build a month, there are surely lot's more out there to pursue. :nod:Originally Posted by browzers

yea i read that stuff... but how do we know there wasn't other builds during the process?... just because we've never heard of them or about them does not mean they ain't out there. There is also a build out there where a zombie is in the piano room, seen in one of the videos out there. Interesting stuff to ponder as a hardcore Resident Evil fan/beta fan.
Before that debug build leaked no one even knew it was out there, so i'm sure there are more beta/alpha builds of BH1 we don't even know about !
There are definitely more builds out there that we don't know about yet, what we have is just a small glimpse into the beginnings of development. Hand over the builds I seek! :flamethrower:
