    I'm happy but sad

That's right. I'm over the moon because I'm finally going home at 10am from Manchester, but sad because I'll be leaving my Family. But hang on, I'll be happy again to see my wife. Oh, but wait I'll be sad because I'll miss SKY TV with it's classic UK GOLD channels. But I'm sure the 12 MBPS ADSL will keep me from thinking about that. Oh, no back to sad because I have a two day journey. 10am Leave Manchester - 7:30am (9th Sep') arrive at Singapore (10th Sep'). 1:05 am leave Singapore and arrive at Fukuoka Japan at 8:30am (11th Sep').

Looks like I ended on a sad point :smt022 hang on, HARD OFF !!! :smt045 :drinkers: :smt045

If you want, we can trade places for a week, and you can have the dead end job in the UK, while I have a slightly more entertaining job in Japan... no? oh well... worth a try! :-(

The family thing is the only problem I would have with moving out of the UK, especially with my niece's growing up so fast.

You are still young enough to live in Japan for another few years before you decide where you really want to settle down. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Geez man -- how long were you in the UK? Like 2 months? That's instanity. My wife went home (to Shikoku) for 5 weeks during the summer, and that kinda sucked... I couldn't imagine being the UK for two months.

I'm leaving for good though in just 2.5 weeks... reality is setting in. It's a weird feeling.

Yakumo, is it going to be a non-stop fright? :smt043

    Sorry, couldn't resist...

And Deathcoaster, about your sad music situation - I have yet to see a university that blocks IRC, as to do so would block all HTTP/FTP downloads... ;-) :-D

I don't know about the UK, but reverse-culture shock when going back to America is just apalling.

You should've gone gameshopping in the UK and remembered the ridiculously high prices... and then laugh non-stop for 3 days when you get back :smt043

hehe now the 'hey Yakumo ... buy me this' posts can resume :smt043

The FTP will be back up when you get back htough, and on another note you will be back to buying games at dirt cheap prices whilst the rest of us get ripped off by import shops etc :smt023

Just a curious thought Yakumo. What was your reason/motovation for leaving the family behind in UK and moving to Japan ? also how long ago did you move there ?

I only ask cause my wife and I are in early talks & plans for moving out west (BC Canada) in 2 years, and we are having a hell of a time with figuring out how to tell the family members. We also are starting to feel a little guilty taking our kids away from the grandparents. :smt009

Simple, the UK is shit :-D Everything there takes too long, we get ripped off by all companies (BT are the worst!!) too many idiots in the big cities and just a general dirtyness about the place. I come from Liverpool which has more than it's fair share of nob heads (Idiots) so as you can expect, seeing this type of person with no brains what so ever every day didn't help. Not everywhere in the UK is bad but most cities are.

I like Japan because of it's technological advances over most parts of the world, pretty decent law and order and it's clean. Japan is not pefect by any means but it is better than the UK.

    Yakumo

PS: Thanks for the "Good Trip" comments guys :-D Only one more 6 or so hour trip to make before I'm back in Japan.

Hey Yakumo (former known as "Higashiwatako" - I told you I'd find your old 'nick! :) ), really sad to see you go!! Thanks for the beers+pizza, it was fun nights out! Though you were right about the day after a 'hot 'n spicy' pizza! :smt009

I hoped the DVDs worked - I still have more to forward on! Let me know about the ftp, etc. NCP and I will have to see about feeding you some crap English TV from time-to-time! ;)

Anyways, I'm prolly best contacted on my email, so hopefully speak to you soon!!

PS: How do I send you the money for the Satellaview?? =D

    Keep in touch mate!!!
