I'm with the same trouble, I'm using the MDR-W08 Sony headphones for the moment. The sound is ok, but is not what I'm looking for. Also they're not totally in-ear, here's a pic to show what I'm talking about:

I've heard good things about Sennheiser, although I can't point you to any particular earbuds because I'm looking at circumaural headphones.
your best bet is to try shure e4c or e5c well pretty much anything by them is great i have the e4c there good for the money i think that e5c would be abit out your price range im not sure how much these are over there also mayby try some off the ultimate ears range but at the moment shure seem to be the best value, sound and comfort
if you could spend just abit more id recomend these http://www.earphonesolutions.com/she3gbleawew.html
you could mayby find them on another site for cheaper

Sennheiser have a nice sound but they are built like sh*t, they dont last long, they literally fall apart!
My favorite in-ear phones EVER are the KOSS plugs
http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf/p?openform&pc^eb^PLUG
they are not expensive (got mine for 20EUR), awesome sound and have lifetime warranty xD
Sennheiser MX5 rocks whether it is in the "Ipod" colour or the normal colour. And those inear earphones costs under 150 dollars.
Sorry , but what the fuck are you talking about ? But seriously I have bought quite a few pairs over the years and none of them were built like shit. Not even the pair I have sent to a person I know, since they are MX5 and they worked perfectly just like the pair I have now. And my fathers pair of Sennheiser I gave him some time ago worked perfectly. So I don´t believe you with that comment. And none of the pairs I have had through the years from Sennheiser has been shit quality.Originally Posted by Codeman

Hmm....$150 max...
For that price, you could go with some Shure E3's, usually around $100, or, you could get some Shure E2's, usually around $50.
They're great. I use them for when I play drums at home and need to listen to a song at the same time.
Belive me, I have/had 4 pairs of Sennheiser phones, I dont recall the models, but the pricier one (a bit over 150EUR) broke one of the connectors inside the left ear and I had to order the pricey replacent cable, but this model has a very nice sound.Originally Posted by WolverineDK
Another ~70EUR model developed a problem with one of the earphones which made it play softer then the other, then the cable broke and had to be replaced, then the sponges in the phones lost all their filling and they became really unconfortable to wear
Then the adjustable strap broke on one of the sides, I fixed it... a few weeks later the strap broke on the other side as well xD
And I had 2 in-ear models, both broke inside the 3.5mm jack in a couple of months and the sound wasnt that great either...
Btw one thing I hated about Sennheiser's headphones is that they keep slipping and falling off my head, and the 70EUR model had a stupid clip to adjust the strap which always ended up getting stuck in my hair
Probably I just had some bad luck, but everyone I know who has Sennheiser phones had similar stories
Codeman: the headphones I use, when I am listening to music on my pc cost over 100 bucks and they are Sennheiser too. And I haven´t had any problem with them at all, my neighbour has a pair of Sennheiser , they are pretty old (at least 10 years old) . But they still work fine
, so I believe you and your mates have had problems and bad luck.

My father (a former studio sound technician) has a pair of Sennheiser HD-590s and I've never heard better clarity and dynamics out of any other speakers or headphones.
He's had them for more than 6 years and they're still in perfect condition... I will say however that they were very expensive even by Sennheiser standards and they never travel but they strike me as having awesome build-quality.
Anyway, I just wanted to speak up about my positive experience with Sennheiser.
your right about that but there the top of the range stuff i have a pair of £55 sennheiser headphones iv had them for a few month the sound quality is great but the build quality is not. the mesh over the speaker has fallen off, the cover off the jack has come unglued and the rubber bit where the wire meets the headphone has snaped but i guess you get what you pay forOriginally Posted by Divine Evolution
My big Sennheiser headphones I use with my PC cost me 700 kroner which is well over 100 US dollars (now they have become cheaper)
Sennheiser
HD 457
are my PC headphones and they are smashing great.
My Sennheiser MX500 (damn and I thought they were called MX5 ? oh well at least I can now show a picture of them) ear*phone*plugs I bought recently cost me 250 kroner and that was the price to pay for good sound quality. And the build quality haven´t screwed me over yet. And second of all, I take care of my stuff, but still the build quality is NOT bad.

Yep, same thing happened to me and my mates with Sennheisers - all where the left ear part of the cable broke. Unfortunately, my pair broke 6 months too late and I haven't been bothered to pay up for repairs.Originally Posted by Codeman
However, they sounded fantastic. A bit like a Merc ;-)

I actually have just come off from shure earphones. The main problem was that the long cord often caused strain on the wire due to tripping over it, etc.Originally Posted by logistikz
So eventually the wire rubber peeled off.

I had a big shop around a few months back as i'm fussy with this kind of thing, I ended up going with the Skull Candy Full Metal Jacket 11mm, link..

For the price they are really great, I have nothing negative to say about them. They come with 3 different sized 'buds' to suit almost any size ear hole, I ended up with a small in my right and a medium in my left, very comfy. This type of bud earphone imo provides a better sound to the type that just rest on the outer edge of your ear. I think they look quite stylish aswell :110:

i have wonderful sounding philips in-hear headphones, that have nice, clean sound, not as good as bose or sennhaiser, sure, paid around 12 euros and i suggest them

I use a pair of Panasonic RP-HJE50 and they are very good considering they cost less then $20, they get constant good reviews and do sound great.
