They developed a Partner N network interface for being able to use a dev N64 + 64dd from both PC and SGI. Pretty cool.
On shiggsy's site is a picture of it.

    http://shiggsy.gbadev.org/section.php?s=n64

The KMC interface Box should be it.

In the mean time : those are the pieces of Documentation im currently owning. Im searching for the rest.

In the latest versions yes, but the U64 sdk is only compatible to the 5.4 version....im sure its compatible with some other version too (6.3?) but i have to check that.

Hey kammedo, can you make a list with what equipment you need for a (complete) N64 dev setup?

the indy is cheap, but the U64 board is certainly not=)
You can ask for any old woman
You can ask for an army of ants
You can ask for a pillar of poison
You can ask for sheep and shavers

    And you can die for
Be careful what you wish for

$20 for the Indy + xxx$ for shipping. That bitch is incredibly _heavy_! >_<

Well it depends from the kind of dev kit you want to setup...
Based on my researches you have three choices :

    a) SGI Indy
    Hardware :
    *Indy
*U64 Board featuring 16 MB of on-board RAM
    *Joyboard extention

    Software :
    *SDK
    *Debugger

    b) PC
    Hardware :
*Modified N64 (KMC version -> have a look here if you dont have one and want to make one from a retail unit http://www.yntproject.net/HOWTO-KMC_N64.htm)
    *Partner N cartridge
*PC interface card (either ISA or PCI - PCI is rare!)
    Optionally :
    *2 slot extension board
    *64dd dev drive
    *flash cart
    *nu flash gang writer
*Sound cart emulator <- this one is basically a flash cart with 1M of RAM, dont know if it has any differences to a normal Flash card.

    Software :
    *SDK
    *Debugger

    C)Network unit (yes it exists)
    Hardware
    *Network interface
    *KMC Nintendo 64
    *Partner N
    Optionally,
    a 64dd dev drive
This last one can be used by both Indy / PC (being it in the network).

Now you clearly see that the N64 project, although having really really very much potential was mined from the start, as

    a) a complete kit could cost you pretty much (Indys back then were Top-High End workstations!).
    b) it was hellish complicated to set it up and use (u64 boards are very sensitive to heat - if the board gets too hot it will hang)
    c) long load and debugging times!!

I dont wonder about the limited number of third parties developing on N64 at all anymore

you clearly see the hand of SGI in this whole thing too. I wouldnt wonder if Nintendo had to give up on some contract-base requests to SGI...

I have to write a doc about that. Will do in the next days I hope. Shouldnt take long.
