I picked up a CPS Changer the other day. Naturally the first thing I did was open it up and see what's inside. These pics as well as all the other irrelevant crap I like to babble on about can be found here:

Nice find (and info). I've always been a fair-weathered Capcom fan, being more than happy w/ CPS1 emulation, so never bothered hunting one of these down. Still a neat littel read though.
Its kinda ugly. They should have given it a nice rounded shell. That would be awesome :smt033

So every CPS-Changer "cartridge" is in fact a full-fledged CPS1 board + game board? :O
Wouldn't it make more sense to stick in a CPS1 and switchable game boards instead of selling a Supergun as "console" and game systems as "cartridges" :smt014
I would have loved it if they had built up a bit more software - and I think its fucking cool they redid street fighter zero for this system (even if it was more limited) - one of the greatest fighting games evar.Originally Posted by AntiPasta
Is thus possible to custom make carts based on CPS1 software, to play on these things?
Doesn't this play other jamma too??
I'm sure ive seen it running a Space Invaders '91 pcb, the pic is on Assembler.
Did you even read the article? Like the two paragraphs where it talks about how the JAMMA on this system differs from the normal JAMMA spec? Or this quote:Originally Posted by Baseley09

Seriously though, that was an interesting article NFG. The Changer has to be one of the weirdest systems ever released, wouldn't mind having one though.
WTF, no way, I only like the pretty pictures :smt043Originally Posted by NFG
CPS1 doesn't have A & B boards.Originally Posted by AntiPasta
It does, in the sense that the game ROMs are on a PCB removable from the mainboard.CPS1 doesn't have A & B boards.
I know but could you purchase the game boards a la carte?
