Type "tool single" at the LILO: promptOriginally Posted by mdmx
I made a long break. powered up the TOOL for the first time in this year. I Tried to boot "tool single", but it returns only
bash: tool: command not found
Back from Japan and straight to the faulty Tool. Again, I wish that Germany were closer. I'd nip around and have a look at the unit.Originally Posted by mdmx
Anyone got any thoughts on the matter?
Type it at the LILO prompt, just after the POST screen.
I still have a spare Tool motherboard waiting Max...
"tool" is which kernel to boot, and "single" is an option to that kernel. If it's anything like a normal LILO you should get a list of avilable kernels if you press TAB. Unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to have a Tool to test with.Originally Posted by mdmx

Holy cow it's Mattcp! Howdy mate! MDMX sold the faulty unit to another member. It appears to be the main motherboard (PS2 side) which has developed a fault. If you had one of those large buggers hanging around I am certain he would be delighted to take it off your hands. Let me know via PM and I shall forward on, unless he of course spots this himself! ;-)Originally Posted by mattcp
