Metal Gear Online Beta

Metal Gear Online was shown last night for the PS3 but unfortunately only people at the event will only be getting it demoed to them and Kojima told everyone to turn the cameras off. The good news is that theres going to be an online beta for the PS3 soon but only 3000 people will get picked.

I'm hoping that someone will be able to talk me through the Beta sign up since its all in Japanese. I would really like to get in since I'm a MG fan. If someone here could help me I would be really great full :thumbsup:

Ugg. I dont have japanese font installed on my work pc. Will have to try tonight at home :(

I don't know how to install Japanese fonts and I'm stuck on the last part of the Konami ID sign up. Imputting my name in Japanese is hard and I keep hitting a problem when I try accepting :|

Can anyone tell me what this means in English? Its when I go to type my name in to signing up for the Konami ID. I have tryed translating my name in to Japanese but this is all I get

It says your last name entered in Kana is not correct/can't be accepted. It has to be no longer than 10 characters and be entered in "full size" 全角 katakana (that's usually the standard setting, as opposed to "half size").

Thank you! I have it sorted now I signed up with my Japanese account and then my main account to give me a better chance.

It lookds really good, finally an excellent title for the PS3, now I've got one good reason to buy one!!!

I enjoyed very much the online part of MGS3 Subsistence, it's usually hard to divert me from Counter Strike, but it was great!!!

It would have been great to have MGS4 on the 360 as it is still to me the prime platform for online play after the PC, but I guess Sony put a lot of money behind it to keep this exclusive.

Well I signed up but I am afraid I goofed on one part.

When you sign up for MGS:O after you got a konami Id. Does it want your PSN email or your PSN Nick?

Darn I just got an email back saying they weren't happy with the results :-( I would be great full if someone living in Japan or something could sign up for me I would be great full since I was really looking forward to this and theres not going to be any other tests appart from this one :crying::crying:

The Metal Gear ONLINE beta test is only open to users who currently reside in Japan and therefore we are afraid that we are unable to provide any support for applications from abroad.

By the way, does anybody know if the online part of MGS3 Subsistence still works? I don't own it so I've never been able to check.

Interesting. I've yet to get any email from konami regarding that. Maybe I maid it though the first pass ok. :D

also I asked a japanese user on another forum and I did register properly.

I just did a random sign up on konami then the MGS site. The only thing that could be of significance is make sure when it ask for your PSN info on the MGS site, you put your login email and not your PSN nick.

Thats where it will have gone wrong for me then I put my PS3 ID not my email for the PS3 ID.

MGS4 will come with the MGO "Starter Pack." Additional elements to the Starter Pack can be added eventually through downloadable content via the PS Store. A separate MGO release is scheduled for later this year, Q4.

Anyone who has a MGO Beta code can download the game NOW.
