    4th TMNT Tournament Fighters?

This always made we wonder, ever notice how those TMNT games had a Turtle and a bad guy on the cover? i.e.

It was like that for all 3, but theres 4 turtles, anyone have any idea if a 4th was in planning for a handheld or something? It was on NES, SNES and Genesis, and I think in Japan they were "mutant Warriors".

No, never wondered cause I thought Tourney Fighters was garbage. Might have had something to do with the fact that it's garbage and they should never have tried to make a 1v1 fighter. ;p

Lol, yeah it wasn't the best, but still. I did like the NES one when I was a kid though, and I liked the art and music in the Genesis one. It had some wierd ass backdrops. I remember everyone always having the SNEs one, and I just got ahold of it, I'd say its the worst. But it seems like there was a Game Gear one with the other turtle and Shredder on it or something in the works at one time, I remember hearing that when I was a kid, but I'm not sure if it was true. I might have liked that....I liked fighters on GG for some reason. The Power Rangers game on GG was great.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Genesis version...because the SNES version was excellent. It was another SF II rip off, yes (but what 2D fighter wasn't at the time?) but it was a lot of fun. It had decent looking sprites and animation, and a SF II:WW type combo system (With Raph-c.lk X4 into forward flip=dizzy=free super:oh:), meaning it was good.. The game is severely underrated, and is very popular in the hardcore fighting game scene.

The Genesis version is not nearly as good. It was a completley and totally different game, with different characters (although Casey Jones and April O'Neil were playable, which was interesting), and different combo and super system. It literally was, a completely different game, in almost every aspect. I can't comment on the NES version, as I've never played it. But I've heard very, very bad things. Which isn't suprising considering the platform it was on.

I always had the Genesis one, so I liked it more then SNES, but the SNES one seems to have a better fighting system to it. I love the Genesis ones music and art and stuff, it's so wierd.

The NES one I liked too, but it was on NES. It still had good graphics and stuff though for NES.

I don't think they did, but it certainly seems like one of those games are missing...one had to be planned.

SNES one is still garbage. I think they might've been planning a gameboy one?

yeah thats most likely, Konami did support the gameboy heavily....I dont believe the in a GG version because they never supported it and it was not as popular as the gamboy

Please elaborate to me on how the SNES version is "garbage" in comparison to the other 2 god awful versions.

Because it still plays like garbage. Just because the other versions are complete ass, doesn't mean the "best" of the bunch isn't horrible as well.

Well, it has very similar play mechanics to Street Fighter II: World Warrior....It essesntially plays like an even more broken version of that game, which ends up being pretty damn fun IMO. To each's own, the game isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it's certainly better than most of the other SF II rip-offs out there (excluding KOF).

Similar play mechanics? It has 4 buttons, the hit detection is off, the game is horrendous. I'd rather play Blood Storm. Or Mortal Kombat 2.

It's still fun, but kind of stupid. I just like the Genesis one for the trippy ass music and backgrounds.

Wtf? Have you ever played Street Fighter? This game features light and heavy attacks, just like said game. Mid/Medium attacks are missing, but the other normal attack act the same as they would in a game like SF II. Light attacks produce chain combos, etc. Supers, are however unblockable, which is a huge (and very broken) difference.

I don't care for your opinion of the game, but clamining it's not at all similair to SF II is a obvious hint that you may not as familiar with the gameplay of the series.

    WOW.

    OKAY!

Like you said yourself, IT'S MISSING MID ATTACKS.

I don't know street Fighter? WOW.

Let's tell that to me, the guy with a Neo-Geo arcade machine, and custom arcade sticks for his consoles, the guy who plays in tournaments, the guy who competed in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 3 at EVO this last year.

Yeah, the game has light and heavy, but that doesn't mean it's like street fighter. That's like saying Mortal Kombat plays like street fighter. They are both fighting games, but play nothing alike.

I know right? I think the real question is has THIS GUY played Street Fighter! visually they look similar, simply because they're fighting games. Gameplay wise, not even close.

On the same vein that SNK Fighters don't play like Street Fighter. Mortal Kombat doesn't play like street fighter. Eternal Champions doesn't play like Street Fighter. Blood Storm doesn't play like street fighter. Hell even Capcom vs SNK 2 doesn't play like street fighter.

It's a different game. Yeah, you punch, kick, do specials, and combos. But the hit detction is off on TMNT, the gameplay is slow, it's a generic fighting game.

Let's argue about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Splinter isn't as hot as Bebop!

April isn't as hott as people think she is!

Also, I think the 3rd live action Turtles movie was the best one.
