I was actually looking for Ultra 64 controllers and the search engine on the site was like "oh this post has 'controller' in it." *lists* Me: Oooohhhhh shhhiiitttt. *buys* Sadly the one with the X outline was sold already, but dang luck!

Thats a later Alpha controller, as it has the final Xbox logo on it, which wasn't seen when Alphas were first built. Might even go towards an Alpha II kit.

Ah thanks! I was wondering about that. I thought this wasn't as old as I thought when I saw the final logo. I did actually see one with the X outline, is that one from an Alpha I or II?

Also, would anyone know what the battery compartment and DC power input is for?

As you may know i am a portable gaming collector only. I already posted some items i considered the rarest in my collection, but new stuff i found make me change my mind. After review all my collection (325 different portable systems, including rare stuff like the PALMTEX SUPER MICRO, ROMTEC COLORVISION, unreleased and prototypes systems, the BANDAI DESIGN MASTER/ DENSI MANGAJOKU, and other very unknown stuff) , i finally choose a winner. I think is the rarest thing i owe, not only because there is nothing in the full web about it (except mine´s, at least i never was able to find nothing) , but because it was released by a known company and the concept can´t be more weird, obscure, strange and bizarre.

Let me introduce this baby to you the following way. See the following picture and each item:


You can see an EPOCH BARCODE BATTLER, a SEGA-BANDAI LOK-ON laser system, a NINTENDO POKEMON MINI, a remote controller, a Mattel LED handheld, a CYBIKO wireless agenda and game device and a CASIO scientific calculator. In some way all these stuff is full different from the rest. Now.. what if we mix all this and make ONE ONLY game system? Yes: a remote control, a barcode battler system, a mini games dot matrix system, a RED LEDS based system, a laser battle shooter system, a scientific calculator..... and even a Tamagotchi? Well you can see the result: it is the rarest thing i owe...

Takara Mega Zed MZ LASER CARD BATTLE SYSTEM (1994)




It is a barcode game system as long it has a barcode reader... but it is also a laser shoot system as long you can shoot your friends like in the SEGA LOCK-ON . But wait, you can enter your friends data as an agenda.. and you can use it as a calculator. Of course as you can note in the back box you can use it as an UNIVERSAL remote control to manage all your devices: TV, STEREO and DVD. And you can play some mini games included, selecting them with a LED BASED selector. The main game is based in warriors that will live in your system and you will need to train them, and will win experience and power after each battle so all this embedded in a full RPG endless game with a ROBOT universe background history you can read in the book.






Instead of a traditional barcode battler system wen you pass the card trough the reader... this strange handheld HOLDS the card, it has a CARD slot so you need to put the BARCODE CARD inside like a cartridge same as the game cartridges games..

It uses its own barcode code , you can´t found additional codes in products. But you can buy or trade additional cards:


I got it boxed , in fact i got it new and i was the first in use this unit even with original batteries as you can see and this turn it more rare for me. I never found another collector with one of these and if you have info i will really appreciate it as long i want to know more about it.

I believe my Commodore SX64 is the rarest gaming related item I've got. It's the portable (more like luggable to be honest) variant of the Commodore 64, with built in monitor and disk drive. The keyboard functions as a lid when transporting it, and the carrying handle works as a stand when using it.

Got it when I helped an old friend to move out from his parents home about 15 years ago. His parents took the opportunity to clean out some junk, including the SX64, from his childhood while they had the moving van at their disposal, and I asked if I could have it instead of them throwing it away. They were just happy to have one less thing to get to the dump :)

That C64, WHAT THE!!! i have never ever seen such a thing. Was that ever released in the uk or only certain parts of europe?

The SX-64 was released in the US, UK and Germnay at least. It was still a lot more expensive as having a proper C64, 1541 and a colour TV. Sales were not that great and it was discontinued after about a year. It did lack a tape port which did mean you were limited to what you could run, especially in Europe. They still command a high price now due to their rarity. Although the DX-64 would be the one to really show off a rare machine (as less then 100 of these were made), Dual disc drive :D

Possibly a E3 2009 demo cart of Spirit Tracks (assuming it's legit, I'll find out when it arrives) if not then the rarest thing I own is probably my SNES copy of Chrono Trigger or my SNES copy of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

the rarest thing i own is not orignal in any way.... I've been collecting Emulation ROMS from the beginning of hardware/computer/console emulation.
At the moment i have put it all on a single external HDD with about 1.5 Terabytes of ROMS and PSX,PS2 iso's etc. I think that perhaps 5 percent of that is prototype, cancelled, unreleased or a total mistery how i came in prossession of it.... The entire HDD is one big history of gaming museum..... To bad i don't have a lot of prototypes original but with a room full of PC and XBOX360 games there is enough to keep me guessing for ages......

Rarest game? Biohazard Remake trial in box, minty condition. Love that game.

System? Stuck between the Q, 64DD and my PSX DESR-7000. All minty condition, but missing almost everything :(

The rarest thing I own is an import demo disc for Bangai-O with front insert (two variants were released. One without the insert and one with). I had to fight rather hard on YJ to score this.
