No worries, I had to check. A JP MD Bart vs Space Mutants would indeed be insanely rare!
My rarest piece of hardware was a Commodore CDTV/CR. It was a prototype for a follow-up of the CDTV but got cancelled as it wasn't a big success. There were only 6 made, out of which, one wasn't booting and mine was the only one in Europe that worked. I sold it on eBay where I bought it (800 Euros) for 2250 Euros.
My rarest pieces at the moment are :
- 10 Million Playstation (PAL / minty)
- Playstation SCPH-1000, never used, all bags sealed, with boxed controller and memorycard
- Playstation 2 SCPH-10000, never used, all bags sealed,
My complete NUON collection. All 7 Games !

I'd like to have seen what your rarest item(s) was (were). Difficult to say as I have 2 items in mind, but I'll only post 1 at the moment. It's one of only 2 that I know of thus far in the UK, only a handful I've heard of elsewhere. Hopefully in posting it here I'll find out a little more about it, but it's an Xbox Beta Live console.
I was told that fewer of these units were made than of any of the limited / special edition units, but how the hell can you confirm that. Anyone with further information on numbers etc, please throw your hat into the ring.
Having spoken to OE about it, I know it's practically useless without the necessary software. It's a double whammy for me as it was originally owned by Lucas Arts and I'm a huge film fan, so...
I bought it for a very, very reasonable price not fully realising it was quite such a rarity. That said, I shall now have many posters coming back at me saying "I have a garage full of those" (which if you do, can I have some software for it please?!)
Eventually I'd like the ugliest of them all, the Mountain Dew Xbox. A snot green monster awarded to anyone in the US who could consume sufficient quantaties of the stuff to collect the tokens. Heart attack enducing amounts were required and from what I gather there were a few left over, which MS converted into the Hulk limited edition which was offered in Europe as a prize around the time the film came out.

How many 10 million model playstations were produced and do you have any idea of it`s current value, i`m sure they dont get sold very often.Originally Posted by NUONgamer

It was something really low, like 100 consoles per region was it not? http://content.techrepublic.com.com/...11-3069-5.htmlOriginally Posted by DRussian

You can ask for any old woman
You can ask for an army of ants
You can ask for a pillar of poison
You can ask for sheep and shavers
And you can die for
Be careful what you wish for

It's a combination of sheer fascination, a passion for odd items, but not necessarily rare. I can't afford rare! I'm happy with "working". ;-)
Rarest? probably some of my GDR's. Some of them are of launch games, or popular titles.
Favourite item? P.N.03 NR, I love that game so much.
Goat is animal
Rarest? Something for the saturn that can cause mayhem on this site.
But in the real-world, I really don't have anything 'rare'. I've sold a shit load of my game collection, but I've been slowly adding to my collection of Arc the Lad items. I just missed a crapload of auctions for all the Arc the Lad mousepads, which will most likely never surface again.
Here's what I own, so far:
-Arc the Lad Collection, with watch
-Arc volume1 strategy guide
-Arc the Lad poster version1 (where Arc is holding Elc)
-Arc the Lad poster version 2 (the one with all the heroes for all 3 games)
-Arc the Lad mousepad (1 out 6: Arc holding Elc)
-Arc the Lad: TotS (PS2)
-Arc the Lad: EoD (PS2)
-Arc the Lad: TotS (JP collector's edition version)
-Arc the Lad Soundtrack (Arc 1 & 2)
-Arc the Lad Soundtrack (Arc 3)
-Arc the Lad Piano soundtrack
-Arc the Lad: EoD soundtrack.
I did used to own a Sega 32x PSY-Q dev flash-cart. From what I remember it did have something on the memory because it displayed something on the screen, but I must of hit a button and erased it. I ended up trading it to Assembler for some other dev items, which I eventually sold.

A very good source told me that they made 35 machines per region. That would account for 105 (ntsc-us/ ntsc-jap/ pal)Originally Posted by DRussian
It could be tracked down pretty easily if every owner posted their serial number and the region of the equivalent machine. The serial no. is a triple digit number btw....
