  1. #661
The rarest things I own are
Two PS1 developer discs (haven't dumped them yet, don't even know if they actually are usefull)
A Net Yaroze disk (same comment)
Boxed and still sealed copy of "The Neverhood" and "Tonic Trouble"
A Rayman 2 Beta Dreamcast Disk... I'll dump it when I'll know how to dump DC disks
A Vectrex and a ZX Spectrum

Pics to come if anyone is curious

lunavorax: That's awesome that you have a sealed copy of The Neverhood! I love that game.

Some rare items I have are:

-The E3 2005 Nintendo DS Twilight Princess trailer, signed by Koji Kondo.

-A prototype for a recent game peripheral.

-Digital backups of some canceled games.

-Some of the original hand drawings used in creating The Neverhood.

It's been a long time since my last post, but I had lot of problems with my (now) old macintosh.

The rarest thing I own, it is a God of War (the first one) Preview Disc in NTSC format.
    I love it.

P.S.: do you know if there are any difference between the retail and the preview version?

I'm curious :P (especially the PS1 dev discs and Yaroze)

I used to have Persona 2 NTSC-U beta, that contained nice debug menu (you could get basically everywhere in game). I don't know what happened to it, I probably still have it. I also have THPS3 PSX beta, with few differences when compared with retail.

My Sealed copy of Pier Solar - First Run

The rarest thing I own is my White PS2 console, this is the model where there were only 2000 made and released worldwide! Mine is S/N 1988, scored it from a pawn shop for the asking price of $69nzd, bargin I reckon, I payed the guy and then told him how rare it was, sucker! (Photos coming)

My prize possesion however is DEFINITELY my DTL-T10000H PS2 TOOL, 4 more weeks and its all mine, can't wait to get that bad boy!

I'm also looking for other PS2 items, thats part of the reason why I joined this site, theres an add in the WTB section!

I've never seen that Master System Mahjong game before. I'm guessing it's a port of the Japanese release?

It's a Hong Kong release, I haven't played the MarkIII game but I'd guess it's the same :). There's two versions of it, one titled Mah-Jong and one titled Mak-Jong, I have both :P.

I'm not sure TBH. It's a pretty rare game and neither version is easy to come by, in fact I only saw one copy sold last year, although a few more could have slipped past my radar. The Mah/Mak Jong owner's list over at Sega8bit.com would suggest that Mak Jong is the more common of the two releases, link: Mah/Mak-Jong Owner's list

It does indeed seem rare but I bet there's some guy in Hong Kong with a big box full of them :)

The cover seems to have the square white wind tiles (Japanese white wind tiles are blank) as well as having flower tiles (which the Hong Kong version uses, but they are not used and sometimes not supplied with Japanese sets). So be interested to see if there are any differerences between the two as different countries play slightly different variants of Mahjong, the American version for example is the worst.

I used to be friends with the chaps at DMA Design back in the mid-1990s (all the people I know who worked there have now left). They gave me a debug disc of the original PlayStation version of Grand Theft Auto where all the worlds were presented in bright, garish colours, which they were advised to tone down and make more 'gritty' for the retail release. It's one of my treasures, and I don't expect I'll ever part with it.

Wow, that really does sound like a great treasure! A prerelease/debug version of the first game in what came to be a big-name series is a very cool thing to have in your collection :)
