Capturing video with the sdk tools

Is there anyone who has succesfully captured movies with the dev 360? I'm stuck while using Xbox 360 Command Prompt, I can start up xbmovie but when I try to start capturing it fails.

Can someone help me with this?

    I get the following error:
Unable to connect to the runtime on target machine xxxxxxxxx

Hey guys, sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I managed to get the capture feature working, but my dev kit crashed, and when I try to start it back up, it crashes again, unless I go to the 360 retail dash. When it prepares the dump file, it shows that Xshell.xex is the cause of the problem. Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

It was transferring the files to my computer when it crashed. I can provide the dump files if they would help anybody.

Edit: I just added a picture of the dump process.

Like I said before, it does this everytime I boot the dev kit to the XDK launcher. If anyone has any advice could you please post it here, or PM me.

Just run the remote recovery or recovery iso and your kit should be back to normal.
You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe.

The only problem is, I don't have the recovery software.

No, I'm being honest; I captured the video, when I pressed the key to stop the capture, the xbox went bezerk. Now when i connect to it through x360 neighborhood, it shows the three 4GB .xbm files, and when i try to transfer them, the xbox crashes while they're transferring.

    Really? Then how?

Oh, and i've been doing a bit of research on this matter.

I've thought that it was a encoding issue for some time. I did a search on google, and the error code 0xc00d0xbc2 is the missing codec error...

Now to find the right codecs!

You can post a link, as long as it doesn't go to any illegal sites, ect...

Could you elaborate on "OxeOOdOxbc1"? 0xc00d0bc2 is the only error i receive when trying to convert...

No, the error you described is for playing back files that have been recorded using windows media center, that doesn't have anything to do with the conversion process. Thanks for you help though, and see if you can get your buddy's help.

Ok I finally got my hands on a development kit, I tried using this many times with no avail, It says I should use a game from the dvd to avoid using the hdd. I tried this in command line xbmovie x:xenon f:1 test.wmv It can capture the frames but it fails to transfer them to the comp, maybe anyone knows where they are stored in the xbox hdd?

They're stored on the DEV partition, if I remember correctly.
