Another PC Question: HTML based GUI

    Hey Guys

Maybe we need a computer forum? Or maybe I should just ask fewer questions heh.

I'm trying to make an HTML based GUI. It's something that will run off of my hard drive. I want to groups files, links, contacts, folders, etc, based on projects or just everyday tasks. For example one page will be for Video where I'll have links to my video players, my movie files, web links, etc. Clicking on a link will either open a website, open a program, or open a file/folder.

I'm trying to make it in Dreamweaver but I can't get the links to the programs nor the folders to work. I can link to a web page or a single file, but when I try to link to a program it asks me if I want to save the .exe file or cancel. It doesn't just open it up like I want it to.

Is what I'm trying to do possible? Is there some catch with .exe files?

    Thanks!

by the way, could you post a few pics of it?

Well I got it to work with IE7 but I have to click on the "Run" tab before it will open it. 1-2 extra steps.... It's still not giving me the option in Firefox, just offering to let me save it.

I don't have any pics yet. It's nothing fancy at this point, just columns with links. This one is for my financial data. I have one column for the programs I use such as MS Money, Excel, my auction software, and my password protection software, another coulmn has web links to my banks, Paypal, credit cards, etc. Another column under that has links to files like my Excel budget, 2005 taxes, etc, finincial related files.

It basically just collects and organizes everything that I use on my PC related to finances. I also have a currency converter that downloads right into the page. I'll probably add more columns with phone numbers, etc.

When I start up my browser it will open to a main page with links for Financial, Video, Business, etc.
