    The Dreamcast Theory....

(Warning: This page contains fake pictures!)

Using induction you could assume certain dreamcast items should exist, but they don't appear to...

For instance, there's is pearl pink console, pearl pink controller(available separately), pearl pink VMU. Obvious right?

But there's a pearl white controller, pearl white VMU, but NO? pearl white console?

    Another example, these all exist:
    Camoflage VMU, Camoflage Controller
    Radica VMU, Radica Controller
Black dotted VMU, black dotted controller

    But,
Strawberry VMU, but NO Strawberry controller?

    Should this not exist?:

    Likewise for the Dolphin controller:

    These exist:
    Clear Orange PAL controller
Clear Orange NTSC J controller (Chu Chu Rocket)

But there is no Orange NTSC U controller?

There is a Sakura Party (hayashibara megumi heartfullstation) Console and VMU, but no controller?

The Divers 2000 came with a Camera, Keyboard, Controller....but NO VMU...

    Shouldn't this exist?

As separates you can buy a pearl pink, pearl blue, silver controllers, but there is no separate black controller available?

There's a Radica (wooden) controller and VMU but no console?

I'm sure there are many more....anyone think of others?

You should write the word "Mockup" or "Fake" on those fakes images, or we'll see a lot of "New DC Discovered" topics in the future :P

Actually, I can clear one thing up - there is indeed a Sakura Taisen controller sold loose. NCSX has it, and I think I might snag one in my next order from them: http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/HKT-7700-19.html

Plus, the Sakura Taisen unit also came with two pink controllers, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the link!, but alas that's a different controller from the one mentioned above. The one you've given is one of the Sakura Wars/Taisen controllers.

The one above is the 'Sakura Party?' (hayashibara megumi heartfullstation) one - check out Yakumo's image for the VMU:

and the thread on that console: http://www.assemblergames.com/phpbb2...132&highlight=

Ooooooohh.... I just assumed you meant the Sakura Wars/Taisen one. My bad. This Sakura Party one looking interesting...

Wait. My poor stupid brain is making the connection. Is that the VMU on Yakumo's site where there was a SUPER small edition of them given away in a raffle or something? :smt017

Yeah, I'm sure that theres a special edition Sakura Taisen VMU that was given away in a competition or raffle or something.

There's only 10 in existance, afair. All in a special box with certificate and stuff.

Now if any of you manage to get one of those, I'll be damn impressed... :smt040

I love Hayashibara Megumi. She is in my eyes the best voice actress out there as far as Japanese anime in concerned. She's even had many songs in the charts. Her last one made the top ten. Must say that her earlier stuff as a singer was pretty sad though :Hangman: But with 16 albums there must be many Megumi fans outthere.

You can listen to Megumi's music by clicking the link below.
    http://www.starchild.co.jp/artist/ha...se/disc16.html

That link is for her latest album which is mostly remixes. To hear her other albums just change the disc number in the link. For example http://www.starchild.co.jp/artist/ha...se/disc07.html Or you can use the little arrows to the left and right of the screen.

The main Hayashibara Megumi site is here for anyone sad enough "cough" to want to visit. http://www.starchild.co.jp/artist/hayashi/

Showing a bit of my sad side here, but wasn't Hayashibara Megumi the voice of Rei in Eva and Naru in Love Hina, as well as the one that did the theme songs for both?

I want to say she was in something else too - maybe the voice of Kana in Full Metal Panic?? :smt017

Does this mean that DC is modelled on a Japanese teen pop idol?!!! (the Kylie of Japan?)

I guess it no worse than having one modelled on a cartoon pink cat character(hello kitty) or a dodgy (R7) parlour......

The marketing folk at Sega really did try ever angle to target the market....10/10 for trying in Japan....

Megumi Hayashibara did indeed do the voice of Naru in Love Hina and the theme songs. not sure about the other animes though. She also appeared as a few different characters in Masion Ikkoku, my fav' :smt024

Just a bit of a note on the unregistered asshat - both this fellow and the one going by the name of "..." in a few other threads are all the same fellow - and he seems to be located in the same geographic vicinity as one of our members. I'm not saying that it could be a disgruntled member trying to be funny or anything like that, but just letting the rest of you mods know of my suspicions. I'll let you all know what my thoughts are in the mod forum.
