Dragon Ball Z for the PC?

In the March 02 issue of Gamepro there is an article about the Dragon Ball games for the gba that mentions there is also a first person action game planned for the pc that is using a "proven 3d action engine" and will be released towards the end of 02.

Anyone have anymore info on this game, or know if it was actually ever worked on?

Even with anime being as popular as it is now I don't think there is a large market for a dragon ball game on the pc, considering this was 2002 you would think there would be an even smaller deman for the game.

Picture it: Japanese day calendars no longer say "Hitler was born" on Apr. 20th, and instead say "Millions spend day playing Itoi's Motheer 3; Worldwide Happy Day"

Are you talking about Bid for Power, what a horrible dragonball z game.
    Here is a link.http://bidforpower.planetquake.gamespy.com/
You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe.

No, that's just a mod for quake 2. Played a similar mod for hl1.(which was pretty bad)

I believe that was indeed the name of the dragon ball based hl1 mod. Still havn't been able to find out anything on the supposed dbz pc game.

I'm positive that no Dragonball game for PC was ever made (that would be worth anything to western players). You see Dragonball games are always made by japanese developers, Bandai in particular for such a big anime. And because Japanese developers don't see the PC as a gaming platform, they won't develope any games for it (unless it's a hentai game, a text adventure, or a hentai text adventure game). Also, the Japanese dislike FPS games too, so its unlikely that the thing you read about was anything other then the aformentioned mods of other popular FPS titles.

That game mentioned in that article was in no way a mod. Part of the article is an "interview" with Paul Rinde(VP of Infogrames), towards the end it reads

"Finally, the pc will have a Dragon Ball Z game, too. Rinde isn't saying much about it except that the game will be a first-person action game and that it is scheduled for release in time for the holidays at the end of the year. Rinde, though, hints that "we [Infogrames] will be utilizing a proven 3d action engine" to run the game. Quake? Lithtech? It's all conjecture, but infogrames does publish pc games based on the unreal engine."

The article also mentions that there was an action/adventure dbz game planed for the ps2. As far as I know that was never released either.
