English PSBBN, and mounting PSBBN Partitions(updated:new translation added)

so, my first blog entry.

this shows something i've done with the ability to mount the PSBBN partitions.
note: the translation above is in VERY BASIC english.

note: you might want to change the included "top.xml", at the root folder, with your own!

to get into the partitions it requiers to have the Beta-Release of PS2 linux installed(~2GB).
+ a custom compiled kernel to mount the APA-ReiserFS partitions.

2.2.19 kernel modules

put that folder on the root directory of your memory card.
and boot up the 2.2.19.BN kernel and then mount the partitions with
mount -t reiserfs /dev/hda11 /mnt/hda11 and onwards, but you might need to create the folders in /mnt beforehand.

well, i hope it might be usefull for someone, even if it's only for looking around in PSBBN, and maybe reversing some stuff in there :p.

    depends on what you want to do.
    but i recomend for ps2 dev'ing, the real ps2 sdk + TOOL console :p.
    but to publish your work freely on the web, it's better to use the open source ps2 sdk.
    i wouldnt use ps2 linux for serious ps2 dev'ing.

    and what exactly you established? HDD OSD or PSBBN? established on native HDD or usual?

    У меня два родных Sony HDD,соответственно на один-HDDOSD,на другой-PSBBN.
    Кстати,вынимать карту с FMCB после установки совсем не обязательно,достаточно в конфигураторе FMCB указать Skip Hdd update check-off.Вопрос с английским языком в PSBBN остаётся открытым.У Вас получилось?

    у меня HDD не родной,поэтому использую только HDD OSD, PSBBN на нем не запускается.Про настройку FreeMCboot знаю,я с самого начала так сделал

    Ясно.Здается мне,что придеться Linux ставить,чтобы английский PSBBN использовать.Подожду,что richi902

    линукс и английский в PSBBN друг от друга не зависят,английский прекрасно ставится и без линукса,внимательно перечитай его инструции по установке перевода

    DVD-плеер у меня и так последняя версия для моей модели PS2 на диске всего лишь его америкосовская версия

    инструкцию читай внимательно и поймешь, PSBBN работает на основе линукса

    Hi, thank you for how to get the PSBBN 0.32 up and working but I'm hdd used a other sector than yours it was not 8224 is was like 84XX (Not sure) but I got it to work. Now I love to get it in English but I can't get a copy of PS2 Linux Beta Release, do you have a copy I can use? or know a torrent and/or a download I can use?

    You are mistaken. Linux install needed.(the PS2 Linux Beta Release).No installation, we do not get access to PSBBN partitions.

    it is required not to establish linux only to start the kernel laid out in an instruction with modules to mount sections however to me it already ненужно.я established PSBBN and the translation into English other method (transfer by the way another with completely kept original menu instead of changed as here) the truth transfer yet absolutely full but it in process
