In comparison to the US comic its very good, artwork is fantastic and consistency with the game universe makes them a pleasure to read if you're a fan of the franchise. (i'm going to scan a double page spread for wallpaper soon, look for it in the OT wallpaper thread.)
Granted they're a little childish to me today, but I loved them when I bought issue one when I was 8 in '93 and I still love them now.

I really hope you understand I wasn`t belittling the collection in any way and was generally curious. When I was in primary school everything I had was Sonic related, pencils, pencil case, binder, t-shirt everything. It`s all I used to draw (badly) too.
Can we get a grand total of the number of Issues please?

I never thought you were :icon_bigg
There's a base total of 216 issues. Also 4 Summer specials, 1 Knuckles based special. Also there's issue 0 which is the small one and then there's the very first Sonic Comic, which was released in UK and US flavours however I prefer to picture the latter as its more desirable and worth 10 times the amount of its couterpart, although I do have both.
Also pictured is the graphic novel 'spin attack' which is the first few issues all in one book, theres another like this too called 'beats the badniks' which is the next 6 issues (not pictured.)
Additionally in my UK collection (but not pictured) are 12 poster mags (many people think there are only 9) an Eternal Champions special, 3 sonic annuals, a Sonic Sticker album and a rugrats sticker album. If I can think of anything else I'll include it later. But as far as the UK collection goes thats absolutely everything, the only thing I don't have is many of the free gifts, but considering alot of them were edible there isn't much I can do about that.

Lol, I'm missing lots of little obvious (and relatively easy things to obtain) from my collection but over the past few years I have focused mainly on my comics and my car. My biggest problem is that I lose direction sometimes I want to focus entirely on Sonic literature and sometimes I aim for games or toys.
Once I get a bigger disposable income (which is nil at the moment) then I will look to expand.

Wow, being a comic fan myself it's nice to see a game related comic collection.
Got a question: In the first pic, third comic starting from the right, on the lower row, shows a character that looks a lot like Trident from Eternal Champions.
What was this, a review of the game or did they use characters from other games on Sonic stories? (it would be hard to imagine Sonic in the EC tournament, but well, after Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games anything's possible).

Ultimately It was a sega comic and had seperate stories for streets of rage, eternal champions, ecco the dolphin, shinobi, wonderboy, markos magic football, decap attack, Pirate TV, Kid Chameleon, rocket night adventures and captain plunder and mutant league. Maybe a few others but I haven't the time to check.

Nice collection - wow that comic set is really impressive! Must have taken a while to achieve - well done!
Ahh, you don't have something I have. In the early to mid 90s, WH Smith had a Sonic promotion, with giant Sonic displays in the windows. It was Sonic on a pink background, and Sonic was raised off the background. I have one of these. ;-)

As of today all of it has gone.
Totally sold up. The only gaming device I have left is a Gameboy Colour. The only item I have left is the Sonic TecToy pin badge because my ex bought it for me and I can't bring myself to sell it.
My collecting days are over.

Well after years of being out of the collectors scene and selling all of my stuff, I only held one regret; selling my Sonic comic collection.
I left it in an auction without a reserve and forgot the end time, it went for pennies.
Anyway I've struck gold recently and with a few good purchases I now have a nearly mint collection. It cost me £70+ to bag and board them all due to their non standard size:
http://i48.tinypic.com/15ek750.jpg
I'm only missing a few poster specials and an Eternal Champions special for the set to be complete but I think it'll take many years to find those remaining copies.
The only thing I still own out of my old collection is the TecToy badge, couldn't bring myself to let it go as it has sentimental value.

I have a rare Sonic Comic that was given away with a magazine called 'Mean Machines' back in the early 90's about the time of the original Sonic game. It's got some backstory to how Sonic went from being a normal brown Hedgehog to the Blue colour etc and how Dr. Robotnik turned bad etc.....
This one: http://www.recalledcomics.com/SonicTheHedgehog1Promo.php
It's mint and i'm in the UK, give me a PM if you feel like you need it in your collection, for the right price of course....
EDIT: Looks like you already have the US version, mine is the UK edition....

I used to own both of them, now I don't have either (the US one shown in the pics went the journey with my old collection).

IMO way better than the US versions. Quite strict to the game story lines without too much deviation into all of the weird politics and bizarre character names and factions found in the US comic.
I'd argue that the artwork is better too but I guess it comes down to taste.
There's a good set of scans here: http://en.sonicscanf.org/comics/sonic-the-comic/

This arrived today. Unfortunately the dog got to it before I did and took a chunk out of it (which is a shame as it wasn't in the best shape anyway). Still super pleased as it's taken me ages to find this. Only four more issues to go.

I have all of the free gifts in a shoe box. All of the sweets that we're given away...their wrappers are still taped to the comics :-)

Box of free gifts which came from the comics (some are still attached to the comics):

Topps Sonic trading cards from 1993, some of which contain Beta images of both Sonic 1 and 2 (nothing the community hasn't seen before unfortunately):

Two things to add today. Firstly a comic I've been after a long long time, courtesy of Urbangangsta101:
(I really want to get it graded but CGC are being unhelpful about it and my local authorised dealers almost seem like they're trying to talk me out of it)
http://i48.tinypic.com/dr5u0p.jpg
And then this little guy. £15 on amazon which is a steal as for some reason on eBay they're going for silly money:

How much did that US copy set you back?
£2.99 inc. postage. :encouragement:
I figured out which comics they were issued with and bought 5 of them. Only one had the comic still intact. If anyone wants to know you can find them in Justice League Europe #33 or Superman #62 (from 1991). It's best look for UK/European sellers as a lot of US comic collectors appear to be aware of the promo's existence in these comics.
Apparently the November 1991 issue of the Disney Comic has the promo too but that comic is rare in itself anyway.
I'm also on the look out for issues of Mean Machines #16 as they were the source of the variant I got from you. Every eBay seller I've contacted so far has told me that the comic isn't there.
Now all I need is the original glossy promo and I have the set. That one will set me back a fair few pennies though. Saw one go for £99 the other day which believe it or not is a steal but I didn't have the cash.
