you're missing the original gameboy pocket that came in a transparent clear hard plastic cover, and misses the ON/OFF led, and instead has a pink sticker on top when turned on.

That was my first GameBoy pocket (picture not mine)

Mmm, I'm not sure there are lots of good places for oldies, imports and rare items in France : except the Republique quarter in Paris where there is quite a lot of shops selling old (and not much often rare) games/consoles at incredible price, you'd better keep looking on ebay ^^.
However, I have not a collection as huge as the posted up so, maybe I don't know as well as I thought the good stores ^^.

I checked out your website: Your collection is simply breathtaking!

You must know lot about gaming hardware. I always find console hardware for the French market exciting. The reason is the issues with SECAM video and therefore greater chance of finding a system with eigther RGB output, i.e. the French Amiga CD32, or that can modded for RGB output, i.e. the NUS-001(FRA) models of the N64.

Are there any other console versions for the French market that one should be aware of?

This Pikachu Edition model is not the real deal. The case of a regular DS lite has been swapped with this fake one.

People from China/Hong Kong have been selling these for a while on eBay. Both as a full body DS lite and just the case.

It's easy to tell, because you can actually see the speakers right through the cheap yellow plastic. The original version is not like that, even with camera flashlight. Also, the Pikachu emblem on the outside body is a bit different.

As for the box, Pikachu is a bit stretched and its colors are not right.
I'm not sure about the overall box design. The Japanese one definitely doesn't look even close to this. The American one (from pokemoncenter.com) might. But it's still 100% a fake, no doubt.

So yeah, no offense. Just thought you'd like to know. (Edit: Sorry if not!!!)

Pretty suprising to see a faked limited edition, is the yellow one in that high demand that the hong kong sweatshops have started production. A proper yellow one is a lot glossier too on the outside shell.

That green gbp is actually glow in the dark plastic, it was a competition prize for some game contest i think it was a racing game but i could be mistaken.

Actually, the first blue LED was made in 1971, but it had too low a light output to be of much use. You'd be right in thinking that high brightness blue LEDs weren't available in 1989 - they were first introduced in 1994. However, you could use a small light source (bulb or yellow LED) behind blue perspex. To get that effect, you'd want some sort of piping, anyway.

From the top two rows are from from various japanese limited editions or campaigns by club nintendo. The bottom 2 rows of colours were released in europe.
