I was surfing around and seen a Japanese Magic the Gathering was released for the DC!

Wow... why the hell couldn't they have made it in US/Europe?

I assume the game is completely in Japanese only?
(or is there a English option? ;)

Would be awesome if so (and I'd have to get it!)

Always look at gamefaqs.com

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/dreamcast/file/magic_the_gathering.txt

No english but if you know the cards it'll be fine.

lol this is pretty odd... I dont know how popular the MtG card game in Japan is but I bet it's more popular in the West!

It's quite popular over here but no where near as big as the west. Bit of a strange release I'd say. Would have suited the western market more. Probably the creators were afraid that the now (thanks to bloody Sony) Average WOW 3D is the way to go and bang on the sequels Fan boys wouldn't accept such a "Tradition" game. :smt043

Yea... I was saying that to my buddy last night... I was like... now wait a minute... wasn't MtG more popular here? haha....

It has 2 sets of files on the CD? hmmmm....

I'll probably try and pick it up anyways.... it'd be cool to check out and mess around with. Anyone selling a good condition copy? :)
(or better yet, know where I can get one?)

Damn... I just need to learn Japanese...

That would be a very cool little hack ;)
Maybe there's a code to enable english? :)
*hell, that'd be awesome!*

Then again... has anyone tried it on a U.S. DC?
(doubting that it matters though)

Has anyone tried out the DC version? I've been tempted to give it a shot from time to time, but the online service is dead now I'm sure.

I tried it out Gaijin Punch. It looked to be a very polished game but I'm not sure about how it plays compared to the original card version. maybe I should make a video of it for my FTP?

The Magic The gathering video is now on line. It's about 9 minutes long with mono sound thanks to the stereo going crazy leaving the right channel blank. The file size is 65 Meg with a nice picture quality. The files name is Dreamcast-Magic-The-Gathering(DIVX-MPEG4).avi

I was really suprised by the quality ofthe 3D models used for the characters. They are among the best I've seen on the Dreamcast. What a waste since the game was never seen outside of Japan. Al the voices are in English too :)
