Hi-Ten Bomberman ?

http://bonk.classicgaming.gamespy.com/game.ktn?Game=htbm

Overview
Hi-TEN Bomberman was the world's first HD-TV video game and was used by Hudson Soft to demonstrate their HD-TV technology. The first version demoed at the 1993 Hudson Soft "Super Caravan" as part of a Bomberman competition and ran using two PC Engine CoreGrafx (5 players on each machine) and a computer to output to the HD-TV. For the 1994 contest, the game was apparently updated to run on a Project Tetsujin "IronMan" prototype board, which many believe eventually became the PC-FX. This version of Bomberman featured up to 10 players and purportedly included Bonk, though this has not been confirmed. Hi-TEN Bomberman was later ported to the Sega Saturn under the name Saturn Bomberman, and Saturn Bomberman does feature Bonk, so it is likely that Hi-Ten also featured Bonk. In 1993, Hi-TEN Bomberman was given the Committee Chairman's Award at the "High Vision Awards 93" hosted by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. Many believe that the game was never released on the PC-FX due to NEC's strict content guidelines on the system, though it was eventually ported to the Sega Saturn.

Thank you very much Assembler.
The DVD of Hudson Caravan is a copy from a VHS promo Hudson ?
Where do you find the DVD ? From a friend ?
Can we see on video the system who run Hi-Ten ?
How long is the DVD ?
I know it's a lot of work to rip a DVD, thank you so much, it's a treasure for a PC Engine like me.
(if you prefer, I can buy you a copy of the DVD).
Do you have some others PC Engine/Hudson video ?
Thanks

Thank you very much, that'd be great to see that, there are some videos lying around of caravans tournaments and one on Far East of Eden (very bizzare) but none of them showcases Hi-Ten. Can't wait to see your rip Assembler:thumbsup:

Here are the links:

Sorry the page is all in French, Thibault you probably know about these ones.

Here are direct links to the videos for the non-French speakers:

DenDen No Den(Far East of Eden) (http://pceteikoku.consolemul.com/videos/PC-Engine%20Teikoku%20-%20Denden%20no%20den.avi)
Super Karavan Senshitachinorokunen (http://pceteikoku.consolemul.com/videos/PC-Engine%20Teikoku%20-%20Super%20Karavan%20Senshitachinorokunen.avi)

These videos come from www.pc-engine.org, a great and original website that seems to be dead, sadly.

Thibault you can find a video of FX Fighter over at Pcenginefx.com.

FX Fighter video (http://www.pcenginefx.com/PC-FX/dls/media/pcfx_fxfighter.wmv)

As for the other games, apart from the PC-FX flyers and the pictures from the press I never found anything else.

Thank you very much sabre470.
Those 2 video are from my good friend Aramis. He has a lot of works and he can't do more for his website at the moment.
I have also some video like Deden no den, Momotaro, Hudson Soft promo 88' Not For Sale,.... but nothing about Hi-Ten.
For FX Fighter, do you know where come from this video ? From a VHS promo for press ?
Unreleased PC-FX games are so rare....

That what I understood also that Aramis was a lot busy, let's hope he finds some time to update his site, I found it so unique and refreshing.

Could let me know where to find these videos of yours. I've seen both ones I linked, but I'm very interested to see more.:icon_bigg

Concerning FX Fighter I'll get back to you, Aaron the owner of the site sent a few lines about it a while ago, I need to dig his comments from my mailbox. BTW you can also find a video of the opening used in the beta of battle heat, here. (http://www.pcenginefx.com/PC-FX/dls/media/Battle_Heat-BetaIntro.wmv)

There are so much things unknown about the FX, but it's really tough to find info on unreleased stuffs, have you check my website? I've got pictures of Nnyu one of the only 3D games for the FX. The link is in my signature space.

Cheers

Hi Thibault,

That was really a few lines that Aaron sent me about that video "As for the Battle Heat beta video, I got it from a contact in JPN who used to work for Hudson...it was on a VHS tape that had some early PC-FX games on it..."

I asked him if he could rip the video but no answer as of yet...

Might be worth asking him again, he's a cool guy.

Thanks for the offer on the tapes, let me know if you find some for me.

I thought Hi-Ten was shown to be running on multi linked core II's?

If not what was that set up for, was it anothe Bomberman variant??

Shame the 3D card never came out.

I agree with you at least the 3D card got released in some form on the FX-GA and 2 games came out using it, Same Game FX and Nnyu, we only need an FX emu that support the Hu6273 chip now.

Nnyu for instance runs on a stock PC-FX but doesn't display any image, despite having the sound and control working so maybe there is a proto somewhere...

I don't know if some people are interested but I found some vids on the PC-FX on old archived ASSEMbler Games site:

From a web archive of May 27, 2002 (http://web.archive.org/web/20020527005758/http://assembler.roarvgm.com/).

P.S. - Credits go to A. Snow for providing us with the link in this thread (http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7644&page=2&pp=20).

incredible find, GaijinPunch.

It has been posted in the very first flyers section of what was then Japanese Gaming, back on Gamespy's dynamic servers -- before the site even used CGI!!! You know, I actually sent really high scans to Aaron Nanto, but he didn't post them.
