A JG poster was gracious enough to send me a little book he bought on Ebay recently, called "Goodbye Software Catalogue". Graphically it's got very little, but there's a blurb on a lot of stuff supposedly slated for MD release, but never made it. I"ll post a scan of it later. A few of interest after reading:.

Explode Star (http://www.gamengai.com/bn_inf.php?type=chirashi&id=824). I think I posted a link to this flyer I've got a LOOONG time ago, when the "beta pics thread" started. Yakumo I believe told me it was released, but this book says it was not.

Cal 50 (http://www.gamengai.com/bn_inf.php?type=chirashi&id=22) - another flyer I have, but it was released in the US apparently.

On cart: Teki-paki (a puzzle game by the legendary Toaplan), Mad Stalker.

On the MegaCD: Y's IV: Mask of the Sun, Pop'n World - a Cocoron (on the Famicom) sequel which is weird as there's an almost complete sequel on the PC-Engine called PC-Cocoron, which is hard as balls to find. Record of Lodoss War II and III, Cotton (Arcade port), Musha Aleste II, Power Drift as well as some other goodies.

I don't remember that one. Do you still have pictures of the flyer? :typin:

Explode Star was released in the U.S. as Trampoline Terror.
A pretty early game, and very cute.

(Last post: 2006. Oh...well...)
So I finally got this book. I thought it was a magazine supplement or a special issue printed by Soft Bank, in the same vein as All Soft Catalogue (http://i47.tinypic.com/2i8hs7m.jpg), but if you look carefuly, you'll notice it's written Deep! Mega Drive:

Actually, it's a doujin sold in conventions (900¥) or by mail, reprinted in 2008 with 3-4 games added. 68 pages, 14,8 x 21cm, black and white and small screenshots.
I won't scan its content since its autor asked me not to, but If you have questions, I'll try to provide some informations when i'll be able to translate it (i'm learning japanese for...uh....just a few weeks).

Any "new" cancelled game? :-D

Always wanted to read that magazine.

Ys IV by Sega Falcom...that would've been the definitive version!

Celine > Oh. Well....If you're planning to take a trip to Paris.... (I'll finish this sentence later. I've to read my first lesson of "how to be polite without being creepy" first)
Since I've never seen the older version, I couldn't tell you which games were added. Here are a sample of the book (http://www.ne.jp/asahi/v/hara/vfd/goodby_sample.htm), the website of the author (http://www.ne.jp/asahi/v/hara/) and his Twitter (https://twitter.com/Va_HARA).

Shou > I don't have much informations about Sega Falcom but it seems the developers were all coming from Sega. Falcom was only making the story and the musics for this game. I still don't know what this version would have been : a port of Dawn of Ys (PCE), a port of Mask of the Sun (SFC, it's also the official version for the Ys series) or an entire new version.
From what I've heard, Ys - Foliage Ocean in Celceta (Vita) is not a remake of one of these versions. Actually, it's hard to tell without playing the game since some of its developers doesn't seem to know what's the place of the game in the series.

Edit: found these pics on my DD.

I recently bought the huge Falcom Chronicles book, but there's almost nothing about the games planned for/released on Mega-CD.

Sega Falcom was a jointly owned subsidiary. It would've been the "real" version of Mask of the Sun.
