I'm now officially tired of people bashing the U.S.......don't quite understand why everyone hates that we come to everyones aid and defend every podunk nation on the planet and are still hated for it....if you have the means to help someone then you're morally obligated to do so....we do this and we're bashed for it.... :smt011 maybe next time we'll let more countless thousands die before we help. :smt022

I'm not. I'm from the US, and I think we've done it to ourselves. I guess living abroad does that to you.
don't quite understand why everyone hates that we come to everyones aid and defend every podunk nation
Google something along the lines of "dismembered Iraqi children" and you will.
Anyways, before Bush was elected, I said, "Texans do not belong in the White House," and I'm from Texas. That might be the best told-ya-so I've ever had.
Keep the funnies coming!

It's not "bashing the U.S." it's hating the George Bush and his pathetic excuses for attacking Iraq. Let's not get into a political debate here (again), just accept that not everyone loves the current administration in the White House.

Well at least Bill Clinton can't run anymore. Now all we have to worry about is Hillary.

I have to admit that, being a US citizen living abroad that used to get pissed off by it, have come to agree with some of the criticisms people have about the US over the past few years... still, sometimes it reaches ridiculous levels (imho not in this case) :axe:

I've lived abroad...(Suriname, Egypt, and the Azores) and I still don't get it.....maybe because my family and I have all been enlisted to serve and protect this country (and others around the world) at one time or another....I'm not saying not to have an opinion I was just saying I didn't understand it..... :smt017

I think you just answered your question. There are generally two things that make the rest of the world hate America. 1) George W. Bush. 2) The miliatary. They are (unfortunately) the ambassadors of the US.
Don't take it the wrong way. I know some wicked guys that are or were enrolled in the military. Unfortunately, they are the exception, not the rule. Most of them run about acting like fools. This does nothing for the American reputation abroad.
Anyways, I don't know of many military people that find anything wrong with the stereotypical military guys antics, military action, the G. W. Bush Adminsitration, etc. which someone like myself (who love Bush jokes) does.

It's not the US that most people hate it's that shitty basterd Bush who is responsible for the US 's negative image in the rest of the world with his rediculous attack on irak and his war on terrorism.
And let's be honest the US isn't helping the world but cleaning up their own mess (saddam was put their by the americans and helped by the americans in the war aggainst Iran, Osama bin laden was helped and trained by the CIA to fight the russians during the cold war)

Well we are cleaning up our mess because if you think about it, if we didn't then those men would not only be capable of destroying the US, but they could also destroy other countries like UK, France, Russia, China, etc. I doubt a country like Germany would 'clean' up their mess, the same with Russia or China or India or Pakistan, except for the UK. We are doing it not for our own good, but for your own good too. Just bear with us.

Man is a madman and needs to be stopped before he destroys all credability the US has abroad.
