Is the GDEV output video format fixed internally or is it something user-accessible? Mine will only output in NTSC at the moment...can I flick the DIP switches on front to change mode? Don't want to fiddle around too much without a manual :)
Cheers,

Early ones only worked in NTSC, later ones/rebuilds* had a PAL encoder fitted as well.
*Rebuilds, as in you can F*** up your early GDEV and it has to go back to ninty to have a PAL card fitted :)

So what do the DIP switches do?

Not a lot until a PAL encoder is fitted.

Yeah, but given my GDEV came from a UK developer it's pretty likely that it does ;) (it would have said on the label which fell off, and I vaguely remember it said PAL Enabled...if that's the correct wording it definitely does).
Do you have a PDF manual for it or something? I don't want to be beating my head against your NDA for all eternity :icon_bigg

If you had the magic sticker saying 'PAL Enabled' you should be laughing.
Here's the info you are looking for:
DIP switches
These switches set the TV output mode of NPDP-GDEV, and the language version.
The following are the settings of the DIP switches on the front panel.
Switch------------------------ Setting-----------------------------Meaning
SW1------------------------------ON-------------------------------PAL mode
------------------------------------OFF--------------------------NTSC/MPAL mode
SW2------------------------------ON------------------------------ Japan mode
------------------------------------OFF------------------------------USA mode
* Be sure to power off before changing these switch settings.
Hope this helps.

Hm. It did say PAL Enabled, but all SW1 seems to do is disable all video. Ah well, thanks anyway :)

Doesn't it have RGB outputs?
Yeah, but I don't have a digital AV cable, and I can't plug RGB into my monitors anyway ;-)
