I paid $30 for mine and included hookups. Bought it at a flea market where they also had a NEOGEO AES but wanted $600 for it, just the system too, no controller or cables.

I thought the WonderMega was the megadrive one and the X Eye was something else? I could be wrong though.

X-Eye is the cheep cut down version of the Wondermega. It plays Mega Cd / Sega CD games as well as Mega Drive games.

Pick it up. If you don't want to keep it, sell it - there are people paying stuipd amounts for these things on eBay.

I won't link to any particular auction, but I'm seeing $51 + shipping and handling, plus a few "Buy it now" auctions at $125.

Sounds good to me, I'll go pick it up this weekend when it opens up. He only wants $35 CAD so if the average is 30-50 USD then I guess its a good deal. Quick question though as I didnt see any sega cd games, nor do I have any yet. Will it play burnt cdr games so I can atleast test to see if it works ?

I noticed this guy has a crap load of old systems that seem to have been there forever. Maby I can get a deal from him if I pick up 2 or 3 of them as I'm probably the only one in ages to even inquire about them. Lets hope. I want the dreamcast he has for $35 as well, good backup to have incase mine dies.

I *think* that there is no copy protection on the sega/mega cd as it was developed when Cd copying was prohibitely expensive. Don't quote me on that though

This is true, there is region lock out tho.

You can change region easy, just dump it to an iso and change a few bits, a text file I believe?

Theres a program that patches it for you automatically I believe.

Silpheed is supposedly good, and Sonic Cd is fantabulous.

region patching is only for MegaCD/ SegaCD.
You still need to bypass the cart lockout - not sure whether it's necessary unless you have JPN/PAL carts that you have to play

Silpheed is great but gets harder as you progress.

People are paying 300+$ for Wondermega 2, which is basically the same thing.

Not that easy, it won't work for all games (you have to change the bootcode, not just a few letters).
