Lots of PS3 news/ MGS4

I'm starting to believe that those demos Sony showed at E3 are quite possible.

- Developers indicate that the development of games is easier on the PS3 than on the Xbox 360.

- Sony accepts orders for the final development kit of the PS3, which will be sent away in December 2005 to developers.

- On the PS3 there will be an online service which can be compared to Xbox Live, on-line Community , Tracking of friends, intelligence services, etc.

- The PlayStation3 should be available worldwide before summer 2006.

- Sony wants the console present at CES in January 2006, although not much will be shown at TGS

- Rockstar North has had development kits since August 2005. Rockstar North has developed a completely new Game engine for GTA 4 on the PS3. They use the high data transfer range of the CELL CCU to use RSX GPU at the same time and Blu ray Disc around several Streams of game information. The city in GTA 4 will look as realistic as a real city, equally humans are to behave more realistically.

- A source described Metal Gear Solid 4 as a mixture from Rambo and Black Hawk down. Snake is to be in an urban theater of war, where artillery projectiles switch all possible covering off around him and computer-controlled partners beside Snake fight.

It sounds like they are going to turn MGS4 into something like Socom or Rainbow 6 :( Hopefully Kojima proves me wrong and it turns out excellent.
New Team ICO game :D That's sold me on PS3 already. Can't wait to see what they can do with this hardware.
The games list looks nice. Especially the stuff coming from Sony, Capcom and Konami.

and really, devs saying that the ps3 is hard to develp for have been known for months, why the change now?

and kojima said that mgs3 subsitience which feautures an over the shoulder camera....would probably be in mgs4....so eh, we'll find out soon enough, when does tgs start btw?

You are forgetting that in MGS2, Metal Gear became public knowledge. And the Arsenal Gear couldnt just be explained away. Of course there will be a lotta resistance other than like 5 people. I for one, think an army setting with a lotta fire and cover and shit would be a cool change for the series. MGS3 was Rambo enough, and I liked it. This probably means they will have (more) vehicles than the rest of the series. Probably not drivable, but they might be more of a factor in the gameplay. I bet this is probably going to be an awesome Online game when it comes out. I just want to pilot one of the Gears and see what its like! XD

Just imagine being able to walk through entire city blocks with Metal Gear, shooting gaint lasers at skyscrapers and launching rockets at enemies. :D

I must admit, the MGS4 screens are incredible. Although I have a bad feeling that people will be talking about the "Grandpa Snake" for quite some time. Still, this is more impressive then Half Life 2 and Doom 3 right now, which is a mean feat.

Although I am a little dissapointed with the way Devil May Cry is looking. Then again, we haven't seen any action screenshots, so it is hard to tell at this point.

Wouldnt surpise me. Still wouldnt be as strange as MGS2! ^_^
IF SS is ~55-65~ as the pics look, then BB would be probably close to 100 years or more. Im doing this all in my head so Im sure Im way off. Ocelot would be old, too. Perhaps his "other side" is keeping him alive, if you know what I mean. I think the war torn city look is awesome as well. Pretty sure that it wont be ALL in the city, though. =/

thank god i didnt buy mgs 3, i think i will definetly pick up the substance version, as im sure it will only be sold for a limeted time, as i know its a pain to find a copy these days of mgs2 substance, whihc i heavily regreat parting with.

I don't believe that what Snake (??) is wearing in those pics is an eyepatch. Just my guess but I think it is an ocular monitor that allows him to see what that little Metal Gear robot sees. Or it could allow him to through his rifle scope to avoid exposing himself to enemy fire like the US army tested in their land warrior system.

But I'd say Big Boss is involved in the game somehow. In the artwork pic Cahaz posted the frail old man looks to be him. Maybe the countrys are fighting over his DNA as it is more important now that everyone has Metal Gears?

I think you are semi-right. However, one thing bothers me: Metal Gear Solid somewhat dodged the reason why they couldn't give over Big Boss's corpse (When Snake asked Campbell after the torture the real reason why, Campbell wouldn't give the real reason). Not to mention MGS characters coming back from the grave (Liquid coming back as a arm, Vamp never dying, Grey Fox being alive after already dying, which was in the same game Big Boss died in). So yeah, I have a weird feeling Big Boss may be alive...

that would be really cool indeed. One of my favorite. Though i'd like to see Decoy octopus or something, that could explain alot of little strangeness in the story.

...Now that i think about it, Big boss' suit in the picture i posted earlier looks alot like Spycho mentis' suit, just without the mask. Take the mgs manual at page 47 to have a picture of it. Weird, is it just a coincidence?

I think it looks awesome. I'm sure the story line is going to kick major @**. Also looks like there might be a lot of ups and downs, such as Snake almost dying due to old age. Looks like something like that happened in the trailer, when he injected himself with some medicine.

That's Foxdie, it speeds up the aging process. I just hope Snake isn't going to be too old... I want a beard too. :-/


I'd like to see the boss that didn't make MGS2, Chiamen? He had dragon tatoo's on his back and could transform in water or something.
