Seaman gets a sea-quel

Vivarium's bizarre voice-recognition game of virtual life is swimming to the PlayStation 2.

TOKYO--Japanese game development studio Vivarium announced today it will be working together with Sega to release a sequel to its hit pet-breeding game, Seaman. Simply called Seaman 2, the game is currently in development for the PlayStation 2. No release period has been announced yet.

Great news. I loved the first game, and I'm sure the second will be even better.

This made my day. I doubt it will make it to America, though. :(

How badly do you want it? There was a store down here selling a copy, but I'm not sure for how much. I don't think it was more than $10. Do you want me to have a look for you?

Don't expect it to make out of Japan....

It's funny, I was just talking about the possibility of Seaman 2 on another forum. Given how popular the original was, I figured it would have to happen. I was theorizing that it would be on the DS, though. There's already a mic option for the DS, add in the touchscreen and wireless networking and you've got a setup that just screams for some Seaman.

...word is bondage...

Yea, i dont expect it outside of japan, considering I had no clue Seaman 1 was ever released on PS2 in Japan. Might have to import it to just have it ;P

Was Leonard Nimoy the voice of the Seaman 1? If he was, would he be used as the voice actor for this one?

I never played the first one and read online that that he did the voice acting for it.

Yeah, he did the voice narration. Not sure if he is on the line up for Seaman 2 though, as this is all I have heard about it.

Leonard Nimoy was the "host" for Seaman. I don't remember if he did the actual Seaman voice or not.
