So I know several people - G'Day Bert :D - are collecting DC VMU.
And looking at Yakumo's VMU page it got me thinking ... Does anyone know whether there's any more VMU than on this page?
http://www.segagagadomain.com/vmu-page.htm
Looking at this page I still need to get the below ones to complete mine...
Nippon Wrestling - some reason never got to pick up O_o
Capcom
Blue Hello Kitty
Pink Hello Kitty
Seaman Red
Code Veronica
Sakura Taisen - not the limited game pack one
Pearl Pink
Pearl Blue
Pearl White
Pure Black -have one missing the cap
Sakura Taisen Present
well that looks like a lot of VMU to hunt down for next several years...

i love the godzilla ones best.
wern't they given away for the movie, before Dreamcast was even anounced?
my boxed one does not mention Dreamcast, Katana, or VMU for that matter!

They were sold before the dreamcast was released, but I believe they were sold in game shops

As well as Godzilla, there's Gamera...
A complete list is available at http://www.dreamcastgallery.com/dc/gallery.asp?selected_vmu_id=200 (this also includes non-commercial VMUs and vibration/memory packs tho).
(Not to be padantic but....) it's useful to define your definition of collecting VMUs (whatever it is).
To me it's collecting every VMU that is packaged differently. So for instance in Japan the same VMU was available in more than one packaging - so that makes it different in my book.
Of course, why stop at VMUs - Controllers are a natural extension...:-)

Bert -- I thought of you the other day. There's not one, but TWO Code Veronica DC's in Trader 2 at the moment. Were they here last month when you were here?

vmu game are just in the GDROM of the DC game? So just have to get the DC games to have those or do you need something else?
Lol, what a coincidence this topic was kicked. I recently decided to collect VMUs as well. I have 4 now, the regular one and the 3 I bought from dj898 haha. Ah well, you need to start somewhere.

one thing with collecting DC VMU one never have complete collection as I believe there was/were special event edition that was given out... so unless you happen to come across those the collection will be never complete... :(

Still a very cool thing to collect and display.
I'm thinking of getting into it m'self.

Yeah, isn't it that Sakura Taisen one that there's like, 10 of that were given out in a competition?
So you could potentially have every VMU, every packaging variant but still be lacking that one. And if you did ever manage to hunt down one of the owners would they even sell it, and for how much?
This is why I don't bother with complete collections. Something like that would drive me crazy, eating away at the back of my mind knowing that my 'complete' collection wasn't really complete.
Anyhow I'd really like Sonic Team, Dolphin and Strawberries VMUs. I just have a boring grey UK one and a funky blue US one on my doorkeys.

I remember at least one....don't know if there were two...could well have been - but they were Claires - right?
I've uploaded a picture of my VMU collection so far...

The most unusual ones are the Pearl Blue (middle row) and Pearl White VMUs (top row).
I've got two Code Veronica's but only one is shown (I have a STARS DC but it's wrapped up for my xmas!, the one in the pic is from the Claire DC)
Ironically I don't have a PAL white VMU yet.....

Yeah, they were both Claires, and gone very soon. You know, I had a pretty mean VMU collection at one point. I'd have to say my favorite one is the Segagaga VM.
EDIT: Or of course the Phantasy Star Online VMU.

I decided early on to concentrate on the colour variant, not the packaging. :D
It saved me from having same colour VMU for different regions...
I'm kind of taking break from it at the moment with x-mas and end of year holiday season coming soon... not to mention short trip to Korea, Japan, China an HK in November... :p
Hopefully I can start again next year to build up more...
and getting rid of duplicates as I find more and more... :(
