End of an era for Zelda..

The Twilight Princess, will be the last Zelda game we will know. Hopefully it will be the best and recapture the great moments we had in the older Zelda games, like Zelda OoT, and LttP.

The article also gives insight into Mario and how he's going through a major makeover and will have a new side-kick.

I just want to say that this Zelda game will be the reason I'm buying a GC.

I bought it cuz SEGA said most of their games were goin to be on GC. Then they release PanzerDragoon, JSRF, HotD3, and a ton more for Xbox (and VF4 for PS2) and the GC only gets sonic rehashes.

Hype can go either way. Screw with the graphics, and you have bad hype (AKA: Wind Waker). Keep the graphical style and make something similar to OoT, Nintendo gets good hype (AKA: Twilight Princess).

Hell, look at how badly FFXI and FFXII are doing on the hype meter. FFXI was nothing more then a semi-average MMO with little to do with Final Fantasy, and it is overlooked. Same with FFXII: Square screwed with the combat system, and now it's taking them longer just to produce, plus the hype isn't as high as it was with the Playstation FF's or FFX.

To be honest, WW was the first zelda I care about. I didnt gave a damn about Oot.

So I'm guessing that whatever "make over" Mario gets on the Revolution will affect or influence in some way not only the next Zelda titles, but also the rest of the gaming library. You might remember that Mario 64 was the game that introduced us to the N64 controller, so maybe Mario will introduce us to the Revolution controller.

I agree with you there - I'm trying hard to get through Ocarina Of Time right now, but I'm just not feeling the same magic as LTTP. Although I did find Zelda 2 to be a lot of fun, if very different.
That said, I'm really looking forward to Twilight Princess after seeing a return to visuals that indicate more of the gloomy atmosphere found in LTTP. I just hope the gameplay stacks up, but my problem with the last few Zelda installments has had little to do with how they play.
A return to the series' roots or a different direction entirely will be a welcome change; I'm of the opinion the series has been stagnating for a while now and could use some new life breathed into it.

Either way, that announcement still leaves things a bit too early to tell, so let's not all rejoice or get upset just yet... :-D

About the change of the formula, I smell a Zelda Online after this. I think is goin to be the flagship revo title to demostrate its online capabilities. Fancy graphics and a PSO architecture, that would be cool

Actually, it's a very simple argument: when they made Metroid an FPS, they switched genres. Those of us who do not like or play FPS games lost Metroid with the switch the same way non-MMO RPG players lost Phantasy Star when it went online. No, the sales do not reflect this accurately in either case, but the majority of those buying the games (particularly after the first sequel) are those who play the new genre, not the old one.

And yes, I have played Metroid Prime (to completion) and it is just not the same experience.

WOW wow, Mario 128 it was never released on the cube, if I'm hearing miyamoto's comments right they've had this top secret mario game under development that wasn't being developed for the purpose of releasing it (mario 128) on the cube, but instead it's purpose has to be it is a tool for playing around with development and innovating things. Just start making this game and refine it forever and ever untill the the revolution is ready and use it as a prototype slash role model for revolution. Anything's possible, he said something about all aces talking about zelda, I think there are some left up his sleeve you know.
