went to play a little test drive lemans on my dc before work, but halfway through the sega/producer screens one screen came up very dark and overload was in the middle of the screen in white letters. i took out my vmu with a dead battery and my gameshark memory card and it all worked fined. long story short it was the gameshark card making it do that. i had game saves on there so i'll have to transfer them later, hopefully, if they're still there. dunno what this means though, any clues? :smt017

hmm, I have the game too and an AR CDX, I wouldve tried it if the game wouldnt be factory sealed... I just cant make my mind up about unsealing games :Hangman:
Supposedly X-men on the MD would show "RESET" on screen if the action got too intensive, too :smt017

I had EXACTLY the same problem when i first bought that game, i was 100% it was the game and was just about to take it back when i took out the action replay and it worked perfectly!!
It could be an anti-cheat type of program stopping the use of an action replay :smt017

so i guess its just their way of saying 'no cheating' eh?
It probably is some anticheating code (you should be ashamed for using them) but there is a very rare instance that can happen when a game loads for the first time. When writing to the actual DC itself (some games do it, others don't. . .check out SEGA's Privacy Policy for more info), there have been known to be errors while writing to the memory. I had this happen on MSR once. . .freshly boot the game and BAM, it crashes. . .wonderful. . .cheaters!

Dont all modern cheat devices/discs hook the system's vertical blank interrupt or something? I imagined that would cause some trouble every now and then (but maybe thats why you require master codes for some games).
However, that doesnt explain why the game would crash with the AR memory card inserted... doesnt it just act as a dongle & storage for cheats?
