I read through the articles and I can say that I am thrilled, :smt023 but it's all very secretive and stuff so I'd be cautious about it
But on the other hand the website seems to have an extensive amount of interviews with game companies but I don't know the reputation of this website so...
Shenmue 3 would be indeed more than welcome. Wait and see maybe the canning of Shenmue Online is related to that who knows.

Check the Shenmue.com website it's got some wallpaper for your OS, I didn't notice teh Shenmue.com had been completely rebuilded  , thought I haven't check it for months, but the wallpaper are quite nice IMO especially the middle which seems to be high res.
New website means maybe an announcement who knows, I'm probably getting excited too much already...

I think it's true :) This was what convinced me:
"Our source confirmed that there was very nearly an announcement for an Xbox Shenmue 3 at last year's E3 show in May"
Don't we all remember the anti-climax that year? Sega had bragged about there big annoncement they were going to do at their pressconference, and then they announced that they would be distrubutor (spelling?) for Matrix Online. I'm almost sure that Shenmue 3 was supposed to be announced then

Yeah, I remember that. I was disappointed as well. Especially considering even if I wanted to play Matrix OL, I couldn't due to my 1999 PC being unable to handle it.
Well, regarding the authenticity of the article on Kikizo, I scour their website frequently and have yet to see anything posted that isn't fact or turns out to be fact. I think it would be safe to let your fears to rest about Shenmue 3. :D

Although it's never been confirmed, most fans agree that a conclusion to the Shenmue story was completed and intended for the third installment, which for one reason or another has never materialised. If this latest title is ever released, it seems that AM2 is planning to include the entire sixteen-chapter saga in one standalone experience as opposed to spreading it across multiple sequels. The long development time needed to produce the series in this way probably led to Shenmue's death as a Dreamcast project, so hopefully there won't be similar problems with this new effort. Ironically, from the little we've seen of it there is also a possibility that Shenmue in its original Saturn incarnation was also supposed to have been longer than just one chapter. Then again, hasn't it already been confirmed in the past that the events taking place on the boat journey from Japan to Hong Kong were supposed to be referenced but never experienced? If this is the case, surely Yu Suzuki's vision has been compromised somewhere? Now that Shenmue Online has been put on hold, I'm hoping that Sega will give AM2 everything it needs (both financially and in terms of porting whatever it creates to the ultimately chosen platform) to bring a conclusion to his epic tale - even if Suzuki himself won't actually be involved in its production. However, another part of me is still waiting for the next real treat from AM2 - how about a playable version of Shenmue Saturn Version or the incomplete Shenmue III for Dreamcast as a bonus this time around? Wishful thinking, I know, but in the world of Shenmue it's hard to take anything for granted. Let's just hope that something comes of this development, as we Shenmue followers have been disappointed too much already...

Same here, heard endless "official" and "off the record" reports before, if it is true, go AM2! you have sold me a 360, if not, *yawn* let's watch as their server falls under the weight of spam/hate mail they receive.

I'll believe it when I see it on shelves. Other than that I'll never fall for these rumors anymore.

Oh, SkiFree! One of my favourite games as a child. You weren't supposed to get passed the yeti, right? When I was young I always thought it was I that was so poor at the game when I never reached the finish-line ;)
Well, back on topic! Hope this is true, and I really think it is

I hope this is true. I want to fight Lan Di one on one so badly. I thought I almost got to in 2, until I realized he wasn't coming out of that helicopter.

I've never played the Shenmue series. Is it like Metal gear but with non-cyborg Ninjas in feudal Japan?

Now you shall become th3 N00b! :smt042
Shenmue is the story of a guy whos father is killed right in front of his eyes by a chinese dude. The game is set in the 80s japan, and you start a real-time (which means you have to work, eat and stuff, like in real life) quest to find the truth.

put simply no... its set in the 1980s ;)
I think of the game as a adventure Role playing game with elements of the fighting genre. The game is so broad that classification is hard. :) Simply put this game is one of the defining moments in my gaming past (along with 'the new zealand story' and 'goldeneye' :)). If you havent played any of the series I strongly urge you to do so :D

ill say, considering dreamcast was full of noting but arcade ports,i know other geners were there as well on dc, but there werent many adventure game on it so shenmue was pretty special on it, even though the first was short while the second was a bit longer, they were some of the best games i played.

I remember Adam Doree from the "old times" of SegaWeb, when I watched every day that site and DC IGN for any news about Dreamcast.
As GaijinPunch says "I want to believe" too. I'll wait an official announcement to show my joy, I really hope Shenmue III is coming, the hardware does not matter, I'll buy the console where this saga continues (perhaps it will be multiplatform)
