Very funny site, most people have probably seen it before though. Hollywood stars making a quick buck, doing obscure adverts for Japanese products. I highly recommend the Arnie adverts, I have no idea what he is selling, looks like some form of PCP based telekinetic drink.

You wouldn't belive the crap Western stars sell on Japanese TV. YOu can see one every day almost. Most recent we've had Brad Pitt selling Edwin Jeans. Love those adds. So funny and pointles :smt017 :smt033 Another one doing the rounds these days is Luci Lu advertising Suntory diet beer :smt043 Oh, and let's not forget bloody Bob Sapp. He's one adds for about 5 different companies in Japan. (Bob Sapp, was an American Footballer but now a champion K-1 star)

Great site -- I was actually looking for something like this to show a friend of mine that's visiting. It's either that, or watch Japanese TV which just ain't going to happen on my watch.
Yakumo:
Bob Sapp doesn't really count. He played football for a year or so, but was not famous from it (his brother, Warren Sapp, is). Also, he's not famous in the states by any stretch (which is why I say he doesn't count). Oh, yeah -- we don't call 'em footballers, but I think most people would understand.
I'm not sure what my favorite commercial is. I'd say Natalie Portman's Lux Shampoo and Sharis Theron (sp?) doing the other body soap are the ones I see the most, as they're on during prime time when I'm on the gym, w/ 10 TVs in front of me. The Crouching Tiger chic's stuff is decent eye candy, although the Visa commercial was a lot better. I guess Brad Pitt got too expensive for Boss (the canned coffee people). Also notice that Vodaphone doesn't have any David Beckam stuff in their offices since he "got caught off-sides"?
All time favorite Japanese commercial was the "Kenta no Bouken" Mastercard commercial. As far as I know, it was unique to Japan.

What are they called?
Talking about non-japanese on TV I just have to say that I can't stand that git Dave Speckter and Pakun (sp?) He well loves himself too much.

(Professional) Footaball Players. The English-English way of saying it is better me things.

:smt023 You speak the truth. My wife likes Dave Speckter, and has for a while. She enjoys his goofy dry sense of humor, and the fact that he speaks fantastic Japanese with perhaps the shittiest accent out there.
Shingo is about the only guy on TV I enjoy. I realize the irony in that, but I don't think he's that bad... mainly b/c half the time he's taking the piss out of himself (the Engrish show).
