Sonic Rush

Sega has opened up the official Sonic Rush Website (http://sonic.sega.jp/rush/). Included on the page is info on the story (In a nutshell, it's Dr. Eggman and Chaos Emerald based again), a few screenshots, and a quick instruction on the game. It uses both screens, and Sonic is in polygon form this time which Sega states will allow for more creative animated sequences. the backgrounds look like pixels, but so does Sonic in all honesty. There will also be a new character, Blaze, making an appearance, whose sillhouette you can see at the website. The game is set for a winter release in Japan.

I always thought that Sonic could have done with two screens so that you could see where it was you were jumping too, this is going to be fantastic, mind you all Sonic Team games are!!

Nights needs to be on the DS too, Nights into Dreams....greatest game ever created. :D

Just saw the video. Looks MUCH better then the Sonic Advance games. The art style looks more like the Genesis games, and the 3D model of Sonic helps quite a bit. Interesting enough, the boss battles and boss stage were in fully 3D (Reminds me a little of the cancelled Sonic Xtreme game). However, the music sounds like a low quality MIDI from the Sonic Advance games. Hope the music in the later stages sound better.

Saw this ign vid few weeks back im totally pumped.............i am a total Sonic fan boiz but that reeks of proper Sonic, especially the music, think its a bit off due to video quality, butr the tune is great.

The bit with the cheers as the animals jump in the air is cool as hell

Thanks for the video link Baseley09. that sure does look like the good old Sonic unlike those GBA games. The sound is ok but nothing great. I love the idea of 3D and 2D stages. Just a shame I kept losing track of Sonic while watching the video. Probably be easier when playing it though.

please sega, after this sonic game (i'm downloading the video right now), make a sequel to nights on the DS! no more esitation to pick a ds!

EDIT: it looks great, but i would still like to see an old school sonic on DS (new or remake), i miss the old 16 bit sonic on genesis! :( The video is quite small though, is the IGN one bigger?
