The bottem of the print looks alot like a megadrive\genesis cartridge. So I think its an prototype/and-or devlopment megadrive\genesis cart

Hmmm that looks really cool, dunno what it is thoug :x

Could be a megadrive proto or test device seeing as their are so many blanc memory banks on it.

I`d of said a MD proto cad minus any memory

Has switches for different ROM sizes by the looks of it.

It is for Genesis/Mega Drive. MD has a 16-bit data bus so typically you'd need half the EPROMs. Each socket is for a 27C256/27C512 depending on the DIP set. I don't know why it wouldn't support more though.

Its a prototyping board for Genesis / Mega Drive. They've come up on eBay lots. As mentioned, you'd put EPROMs on it.

As retro has stated this is an early Genesis/Mega Drive cartridge development board that the developers had used during the production of a game! Due to the sockets it was easy for the developers to change the EPROMs to test a new version of the game when ever it was necessary! I have seen in the past some different versions of these boards!
They show up quite some often on eBay!

Without the eeprom's, its not going to do jack.

If one had an eeprom burner...it could be used...if its not busted...and you know how it works...but in the end, it would end up being more of a hassle than its worth...better off with one of those backup type devices...

I would say its better to keep it like it is, it would be a shame to mess it up

well, cant do much harm just to put some (E)EPROMS in the sockets if the voltage is right.... or, if you're low on money, download a beta dump out of the MD/Gen goodset, burn it and stick it in the sockets.... then sell it as extremely rare beta, bet you'll get loads more :)
