Try Yakumo, or get an American model off ebay and stick a switch in.

I'll get you one but don't expect it too cheap with postage added.

yeah, postage kills the deal :( 50 or so for the saturn and another 50 for shipping?

Order an American Saturn and an Action Replay 4-in-1 if you can't solder. I haven't tried the switch, since I already have an AR, and a replacement Saturn would be damn hard to find down here.

Those things are like $25.

its true that action replay can be had for $25 at jandaman.com, thats where i got mine and they work perfect, as for a saturn for $30, i know what you mean, its extremely hard to find one in the U.S. and i was shocked when i found one at a comic con, but from my experiance ebay is your best option, sadly sega xtreme is no longer aval, too bad cause thats where i got my second saturn for $30 shipped.

Well, usually people have to pay money for goods and/or services in the US. [/sarcasm]

Yes, they cost money. If you want, go buy a switch ($4-6), a soldering iron ($8), and some solder (depends). If it's worth the risk to you, go at it.

This "Saturns are impossible to get in the US" thing puzzles me, it seems to differ widely among states... when I was down there two years ago, travelling in the Michigan-NYC-Philadelphia area I saw several shops selling them, a pawn shop in Lansing sold Saturns for $39 and this store in Springfield, PA for $25 eve.

From my experience, Saturns can be found pretty easily. If you can get it through your head that Gamestop and EB, Gamecrazy and every other national franchize aren't the only video game stores around, you can pick up a Saturn pretty easily.

I'm not saying that you're going to be tripping over Saturns wherever you go...they're not Genesis common...but keep in mind that they sold millions of them. Open up the yellow pages, look up independent video game stores. You're bound to find one.

That's where I bought mine - an independent video games store. I bought one for $30 right after they opened, and they stopped selling them a week later (about a year ago). They're the only independent store within an hour's drive. I know "Buy Rite" in Raleigh used to sell them, but God knows what was done to those poor consoles. There are probably a few places in Raleigh that still sell them, but I figure it would just be easier to eBay one.

It must differ among states, as you said, Antipasta. Assembler also said he could pick up a Saturn in New York very easily. You can't even find the thing in pawn shops here (they sell practically everything). Dreamcast stuff is getting a bit difficult to find, too, although I don't think it'll be as bad as Saturn is now. The games are actually more difficult to find than the system, and even then they're usually shitty games.

How was it funny? You acted surprised when you found out you have to pay for the Action Replay. I gave an alternative to the Action Replay. If you don't like either option, don't import anything and stick to the US games.

I knew how much it was before you ever mentioned it. I don't really see how I was suprised, I said those things are like $25. No need to be a dick.

Settle down, chums. Don't go saying anything you'll regret. Maybe edit each of your last posts, say "Who cares," and realize that there is no point in arguing over something so pointless, huh?

There really isn't any point, so I won't say anything more. Evangelion-01 got the information I provided, so that's all that I care about.

well, i already knew about that mod and about the ar :P

Those are your only two options, as far as I know :p.

Mod chips for the Saturn only allow you to play "backups". I suppose you could always rip a Japanese game, tag an American country code on there, and burn it.

Or you can do what I did and buy a Japanese Saturn. I know shipping is killer ($50+), but that white Saturn just looks too damn good :D
