It was only a matter of time before the UK got hit - the statement saying they're going to bomb muslim community centres has got a few people where I work on edge because we work at such a centre and it's reasonably well known too (visits from MP's and royalty). If it happens to get blown up whilst I'm in there then there is proof that when shit hits the fan for me it hits hard hehe. What's strange though is the bombers claim the bombings are for jihad, yet jihad is to better one's self and their community by helping them, not killing them. Jihad is also to fight only in self defence, but clearly these attacks were not part of any battle. As to their claims of killings of muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan being wrong, those guys were firing guns at people who would only shoot them if they fired 1st, so it's not really self defence at all - added to that according to Abel any muslim who dies in battle but does not fight all their sins are forgiven, so why they shoot first is beyond me or maybe I'm missing something/don't fully understand Islam. Oh well ...

No, you got the general gist right, it's just when people need a reason for fucking others over, religion is an easy choice.

Nice thought. I can only agree with oldengineer. Sad that things like this have to happen in a world like this...

No words for this, but I am happy it wasn't much worse in terms of death toll as I initially thought.

I'm glad to hear that thus far nobody here was hurt, but I'm terribly saddened to hear of the numbers behind the deaths and injuries, even if they are smaller than we had feared.

Elvis Costello said it best, I think - "What's so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?"

There's not much I can say after what's already been said :( Let's hope this is the last of the attacks.

Well today has been relatively quiet in the bad news front. Ive only been out to mac donalds and where i live just about 15mins by tube away from the incidents was packed. Everyone was out, shopping and eating.

Not normally this busy at this time of the week. So it seems people are still out and about. Stopped by the tube station and heard that one of the stations from yesterday was again closed due to a suspect package. Dint stop the at least 10 or so that i watched get in the tube in the 2mins i was at the station.

Taking the tube tomorrow to go see my gf hope everything will be well!

luckily i wasnt in london that day, although one of my friends was at Kings Cross when it began. My prays go out to the families who have lost someone. The current confirmed death toll is 52 although I expect it to be around 75 when the dust has settled. There have been multiple bomb scares over the last few days, birmingham city center was evacuated the day before yesterday due to one. People must stand together in situations like these.
