Maybe I'm just in a shitty mood but when will Nintendo get a clue ? I just saw a add on TV for wait for it.............................. Game Cube Dance Dance Revolution........................................ ....................with.......................... .................................................. ...that's right, FUCKING MARIO !!!! :no :-(

Not only is DDR such an out dated game in Japan that nobody really gives a shit about but why the fuck destroy a perfectly good game by filling it with bloody Mario and Mario tunes ???? Nintendo may have a bit of cred with a normal DDR game but stick Mario in it and they lose my respect all together. I hate Mario !

Nintendo: "hey konami, we'd like you to make some bemani games for the cube"
Konami: "how about... NO"
Nintendo: "we'll let you put mario in it, so that people will buy it! It worked for EA and that basketball crap, and for Namco with link in SC2"
Konami: *rolls eyes* "fine we'll make a DDR with that fat ass plumber of yours"
Nintendo: "Isn't DDR somewhat dated"
Konami: "LOOK!!! Do you want the bemani or not!!"
Nintendo: "ok we're sorry..."

i don't want those ''insert mario face here'' anymore, if you want to do a soccer game, or anything, it's allright, but why do you have to put mario in it goddammit!? where's the time when you made games such as icehockey, Punchout, exitebike and all? there was no mario, and it was still good! (ok, mario made a cameo in punchout, but that's all).

And yes, i do love Mario, i do love his adventures, i do love mario rpg/paper mario and mario kart too, and i do have mario tennis, but i'm just tired that mario do all sort of things with is
funny friends.

There is a Mario Soccer game coming, so I guess the FPS can't be far behind.

Now, seriously, this is something I have been sayng for a while, but everyone tell me to get lost: Nintendo needs to stop puting Mario and company in every game they do. It's not that those games are bad (actually, they are good) but by placing Mario in everything all they are doing is aiming for the Nintendo fanboy instead of the casual gamer or, I don't know, gamers used to sports games with real teams and players.

Placing Nintendo characters on third party games should not be the solution for low sales of third party software, but unfortunatley I guess it does work.

A Mario FPS wouldnt have guns. They would have "melee" weapons like the super hammer, Shooting weapons like the fireball flower, and other things. Doubt it would work real good, though.

marios great and all, but dont start miliking him and putting him in every type of gener, cant wait for mario snowboarding, but realisticly, id say theyre best off doing like they did with 1080 and attempting a semi realistic sports game instead of using there characters to sell it, i mean tennis and gold were good and all, but it was developed by camelot and not them. Hopefully theyll come full circle with revoloution, cause gba and ds seem to be all that feel left of old nintnedo atm.

I hate Mario !

Same here. Mario was cool back in the 80's when I was a kid playing my NES, but the new mario is just bloody awful. I'll probably be flayed alive by Nintendo fanboys by saying this, but Mario just isn't cool anymore.

I do find most Super-Mario platform games to be real masterpieces of gaming - and I'm sure sure as hell I'll keep buying them.

I, however, hate Mario Kart. Go figure that one, huh?

Thanks :D haha. That was my attempt at a funny, it would apear i passed :D. Anyways, in all likelyhood it was a case of Konami only agreeing to do it with a Mario endorsement.

It's well known that Nintendo games sell better than 3rd party games on Nintendo Systems.. and by slapping Mario on 3rd party games it gives the games that extra push... It's not a great way of doing things as it just serves to dilute Mario and his image, which is bad enough, what with him being a fat plumber with a cheesy pornstar moustache (you have to make a living somehow between games i guess). In some respects you have to give Nintendo probs for trying to help out 3rd party sales, and thus grab new games for its userbase.. on the other hand it would be better if they took the Sony and MS approach of bags off money instead of slapping Mario's smug face on everything...

And thus, i chime in with Yakumo "FOR F*CKS SAKE, NINTENDO!"

It's really rather simple. If you dont like mario in games then dont buy them. Nintendo dont hold you at gunpoint.

DDR is indeed a old series now that konami have milked to death.

Id rather have mario any day than the other good old standby that konami use when making nintendo versions DISNEY arrrrrrrgh.

Then again im in a minority here as these boards are very anti nintendo. But capcom are far worse, the milking of the rockman & street fighter games can easily rival nintendo. And then theres sega with the sonic games, that poor hedgehog has been shoehorned into many many games.

oh please sonic has hardly been whored out into as many games as the mario characters.

The only reason it seems like everyone is anti-nintendo is because they waste their time making mario waterpolo instead of sitting their ass down and doing what they do well and actually make a good mario platformer. Or putting their skills to making a really good RPG or something original.

Its too easy to go and whore mario out all the time and it dissapoints people who know Nintendo can make better games.

You seem to forget one thing, half of the games that have mario into them are not made by nintendo they are liscensed by nintendo.

Mario party / Hudson
Mario golf & tennis / Camelot
Mario DDR / Konami
Mario baseball / Namco

Sonic might not have been used as much as nintendo use mario but he has starred in a huge amount of games.

I myself love nintendo to death, I just haven't bought any of their systems, thus any of their games, in ten years.

Hell, I just got an N64 like 6 months ago!. Still, though, I really don't like the direction mario games are taking, but the real Mario games, the platformers, are pure bliss.
I'm excited over the DS mario game, not 64 but the new one that's supposedly going to be released one day.

I have my reasons for hating the cheeky little bastard, though.

I've despised pretty much everything made by Nintendo, with the huge exception of the Super Famicom. I love that system, and I'll own one one day (when I find one that isn't piss-yellow).

I just don't like them, I'm not going to go off into why. If you like Nintendo, more power to you :).

i love nintendo too, it's just that i'm tired of that

and why can't they do sports tittles without mario anyway? exitebike, punch-out and 1080 all succeded very well. If nintendo's making a new game and that isn't a new ''real'' game for link, samus, falcon, donkey kong or fox, then you know mario will be in it, or it's friends, at least.

Nintendo doesn't need mario to make a game with their own magic touch.

I wouldn't say that this board is anti Nintendo Importaku :) It's just that every other Nintendo release whether made by them or not has Mario in it. It's far worse than Sonic who has been in many games but nowhere near as many as Mario. Rockman and Street Fighter are also milked as is Konami's tokimeki games and so on but they appear mostly in there own games, not across many other different types of games. I think Nintendo should stop pissing about with sticking Mario in every other game and just make a really good platformer staring Mario. I've never been a big fan of Mario but I do enjoy his platformers. I played the SFC Super Mario to death and really enjoyed playing Mario 64 on my DS but all these spin offs is really boring. If it was Sonic I'd say the same thing about him. In fact I don't really like all these Sonic collections around over the last year or two. Sega should stop pissing about and stick EVERY sonic game on to one DVD since it's easily possible.

For new original non mario nintendo game chibi robo has my vote, its simply fantastic im having so much fun (not a single mario cameo in sight) however that wasnt 100% made by nintendo it was a colaberation between nintendo/skip & bandai.

and what nintendo's doing by these days anyway? Metroid games are done by retrostudios, Star Fox, The next mario kart (for the arcades), and donkey kong are all made by namco, The last F-zero games were made by sega, Mario Spin-offs are by camelot and co. So what the hell nintendo's working on right now? Zelda? is this the only thing they're on right now? pheeww...

and i don't know how you could broke sonic more than it is right now. sonic is only the shadow of what it was before, and i would really like to see another compagny, like nintendo, doing another sonic. Nintendo couldn't f*ck up the gameplay, and that's the thing missing in the last sonic games .

Alright, hey, what about Mario & Luigi's Oregon trail?? That could be a winner! The wagon can be pulled by turtles instead of oxen, and instead of diseases, you could get messages like, LUIGI HAS A NON-DESCENDING TESTICLE or LUIGI HAS BEEN CASTRATED BY INDIANS and then they can use rag doll physics to make luigi fly off the wagon!
