I've seen few BASIC kit for Saturn at around 10000 yen in my last trip to Japan. $300 for a kit is ted bit too much of markup IMHO. :p

8500 yen in Akihabara... btw, this is not really comparable to Yaroze as it runs on stock hardware, and has far less capabilities. Still cool though :-)

Soulstar is just a demo disc not a prototype, but the game was never released in the end.

The cartidge with Protector can be used to boot homebrew & prototype Jag CD games - after Atari went under no one knew how to encrypt the discs, so they had to be unencrpted and use a bypass method to boot.

you can get laptop size mini PC keyboard fairly cheap. I've been looking for wireless version to use with HTPC btu so far haven't seen one at decent price - i.e. cheap cheap! - and in either transparent (crystal) or smoke black...

I might have the LE Sakura Taisen box set complete with the same keyboard some where... when I do find it it will be on eBay... heh :D

I have complete copy of unofficial PC Engine release AV Tanjou on eBay ending less than 24 hours. This is complete copy with its own Game Express hucard. The Game Express hucard alone will fetch around $25-35 so this is not a bad deal if I say so myself. :p

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8146628750

If you're thinking of the possibility of running this one on US Turbo Duo I also have the hu card converter as well since Turbos Duo will run this JPN title but you need the the converter to run Game Express hucard. However, as having no Turbo myself I cannot confirm this is in fact workable...

also have JPN exclusive Dreampoint VMU in Carbon Fibre as well as Camouflage as well.

One guy was selling an almost identical one recently......which was removed from ebay...........anyone remember be asking about how
much they were new from M/S??

The guy said he bought it from a boot sale from a guywho used to develop games and his son used it :-(

Then it was removed from sale...

Then Gavroche posts one...along with a NR-Reader.

The odd thing is I only saw completely clear DEV-KITs when I was testing
for M-Soft a few years ago.

Some guy picked up a bastardised one that had the Dev Kit top but with the standard base/inners of a black production model.

Someone may be able to advise that they did make some two colour ones
but I find that hard to believe.

Perhaps this is the same one rearing it`s ugly head again!!!!!!

I don't think it's an official GB proto cart, looks like a normal cart that's been hacked up a bit. Kyuusaku could probably shed some more light on it though. I may pick this up if its cheap enough, quite fancy something like that for homebrew stuff.

Fair enough, im not going to argue with you if you have the real deal to compare it to!

Even though it's bound to be blank by now, im certainly more interested in buying it if its a real proto cart!

What you can do is take some masking tape, color it red/orange, take a pic, then remove it when you send.

Interesting Famicom game there. It must have been from 1989 or later, made by Nintendo, appears to use Nintendo's MMC5 chip, it's unreleased BUT it's only a sample? No way in hell someone'd pay $20K for a SAMPLE. My guess is that it's not really a MMC5 game and it's released under another name.

Not bad, cheaper than buying Verbatim brand which so far is the only kind that makes quality CDRs for the crappy PSX lasers. Of course, having a good CD burner is what helps out in making sure the psx reads the game like its original.

I've heard rumors of a different kind of Saturn CD-R's having the security ring, but not confirmed. That might also be the difference between the PS CD-Rs with one of them having the SCEx codes pressed already - small chance though, as I think the PS1 burner can put them there anyway...

Well, I'm interested, but I am from Italy. If it's not a problem I'll contribute

The only problem is, we need someone in America with a credit card to pay. They use some antiquated payment scheme, and refuse payments from overseas.

Other than that, your money is more than welcome! :-)

If you havent got someone yet, ill do it (got a credit card, and im in the good ole USA, and want in :P)

Sounds good, thanks! I know Antipasta and Paulo were interested in the last sale, so I would assume they would want in on this one.

Are you on MSN? if so, pm me your address so we can speak privately about it all. Same for Nicola if you still want in.

It's a pirate. The game is a hacked version of Armadillo for Famicom. Nice Wideboy though!

then what was the blank CD-R I saw mentioned on the old board having ring or something??? Was it different kind?

Blank Saturn CD-R with ring? Perhaps it was a pre-production Saturn game or the Saturn system disc? Saturn CD-R's are like normal CD-R with the Sega & Sega Saturn logos etc.

dj898
12-22-2004, 02:58 PM
thought Saturn doesn't run normal CD-R unless it has the security ring and think remember there was discussion of such ring on the blank media back then... I recall seeing some pictures as well... not sure it was on an old board or another forum though...

Hey Tachi, if you get those PS1 CD-R's could you save one for me?
Would love to have one, or maybe more than just one.

Any ideas on how much each would cost?

Trust me, the first time i saw that first set..that was the first thought in my mind "wow, someone could make a killing selling fake prototypes"

But, besides the fact that we all know who bought em, if we happen to see any of us selling PSX proto's, we will know that there PROBABLY not real!
